  • Summary: In the first adventure, "Supernatural Private Eye" Edward Carnby is confronted by the many faces of evil in the darkness of Derceteo, a house where entering is the easy part and leaving could be hell! In part 2, Carnby battles against the powers of voodoo to save an eight-year-old girl kidnapped by a gang of evil zombie bootleggers dwelling in the aptly-named "Hell's Kitchen." In his final quest, Carnby faces the ultimate challenge in Slaughter Gulch, a Western, wilder than you could ever imagine! [I-Motion] Expand

  1. While each game features gameplay a step above the other, a few flaws carried themselves from title to title, never being fully resolved.
  2. The awkward camera angles used in the games do make movement and fighting difficult in some cases, but fans of adventure games will find plenty to enjoy.
  3. Both action hounds and graphic-adventure fans will find plenty of satisfying challenges here, and the music and audio effects will help all but the most hardened gamers suspend their sense of disbelief and become wrapped up in the mysteries and dangers that await.

One of the best videogames ever made!

The games that gave birth to a genre. All of them good

    Alone in the Dark 1:
The beginning of it all. Time has not been kind as the animati
on is almost comedic today. But I remember at the time when this was new, this game was scary as hell! Puzzles were hard, yet not impossible to figure out. The atmosphere in this game kept you on the edge of your seat almost all the time. This is truly the Godfather of Survival Horror.

    Alone in the Dark 2:
Pretty much exactly the same as the first game, but improving on everything. Bigger environment better visuals. More solid combat. The only thing in this game that was weaker than the original was the story, but even that was good too.

    Alone in the Dark 3:
Perhaps the weakest of the three games. Visually it improves, but story and gameplay do seem to suffer a bit a time as this style of control was getting a little stale at the time.

Overall: A fantastic trilogy and every game that aspires to be a survival horror game should take its queues from here.

  3. Uno de las sagas fundacionales del miedo en los videojuegos. Esta trilogía es uno de los clásicos de culto de los '90s, y que formo una parte entrañable de la infancia de muchos. Expand
