I wish I could erase the few days I spent playing this game.
  2. The game's graphics are uninspired and the sound is awful, and those elements in the gameplay that are subtly different from those in other real-time strategy games won't be noticeable to any but the most experienced real-time strategy players.
  3. History Buffs may consider this "Age of Empires" clone if it's cheap, but all else leave it be. [Apr 2001, p.84]
  4. A classic example of a game that looks pretty decent of paper, but is actually horrible in application.
  5. The decidedly unreasonable degree of difficulty prevents any of it from developing into something entertaining.
  6. From the graphics to the execution to the gameplay mechanics, America is the poorest excuse for a real-time strategy game I've seen.

Everybody loves America! Uh, okay, not everybody. But I like the American theme. It feels like a good copy and expansion pack for Age of Empires II. If you like that type of game and want to try Native American, American, Outlaw and Mexican civilizations, get this game now! It is much better than the "50" average score and probably very cheap now because of all of the negative reviews!! Full Review »

"Been there, done that." Not a "must-have" game, but it's not bad, either. It does look a lot like Age of Kings.
