This clever - if somewhat amateurish - mod replaces the famous portal gun with a gel gun. Still it's not clever enough as bouncing around with the gels can't compete with the variety the portals had. [Sept 2014]
Aperture Tag is a decent game. Expanding the gels started in The Power of Paint and applied to portals in Portal 2 into their own full game. Well, not really a game, just a mod for Portal 2. But close enough. The core who is overseeing you in this game gets pretty annoying after a while. He's not as charismatic as Wheatley or as silently scheming as GLaDOS. The gameplay is the main draw of this game, and it is pretty good. But the way to gels launch from your gun feels really tacky and lazy, and takes you right out of the game every time you notice the strange delay and manner of which the gels launch from your gun. Small thing, but this really does annoy me. The puzzles are good, just as good as the puzzles in the Portal games, and does a good job of stretching the abilities of the gels. I would recommend this game to anyone who loved the gels from The Power of Paint and Portal 2, but if you didn't.... Well, you won't enjoy this mod that much.
Interesting puzzles but sometimes it was borderline frustrating. I failed some jumps dozen times due to missing few millimeters; generally, the puzzles offer very little margin of error.
