Oct 25, 201174The phrase "more of the same" strikes one more time. Gamers who liked the main game will find this addon entertaining as well. For RPG enthusiasts, ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif falls a little short on complexity.
-
Oct 27, 201158It's very short but we still had to force ourselves to play on. Dumb non-stop battles, oversized dungeons and a tiring story is basically all there is. Think twice before buying this one.
-
Nov 7, 201150Arcania: Fall of Setarrif is unable to bring anything new in the Arcania universe. Same combat, same objects, smaller locations and lesser graphics make this experience a flat promenade toward an (again) unsatisfying final.

Mar 13, 201240If Gothic's evolution is to look like this, we're better off without the next entry in the series. [April 2012, p.75]
-
Jan 19, 201240Linear, zero invention, generic NPC faces, short lifespan. This add-on hardly leaves any trail in gaming history. [Christmas 2011]

Mar 26, 201230Even if you found yourself enjoying Gothic 4, I can't suggest that you pick up the expansion, Fall of Setarrif. It's a poorly constructed add-on to a mediocre game.
-
Dec 5, 201130Setarrif ends as soon as it starts, and that defines its final score. You play it for the sole purpose to finish it quickly. If we take its low difficulty and a lack of a great story, then the quick finish is not a problem at all.
-
Nov 7, 201130The only difference between this game and the horrendous Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods is that it's almost bug-free.
-
Nov 3, 201125Despite all the many, many problems the game has, Spellbound still programmed in the ability to stir soup. Soup your character can't actually use. They actually took development time out from dialogue, story, characters, quests, content, graphics, combat, and all the other essential RPG elements they screwed up to give your annoying shepherd an utterly pointless animation. That just blows my mind.

Feb 9, 201220Fall of Setarrif is a fall of Arcania. A new brand that was supposed to blossom on Gothic's carcass has failed miserably. There are no new fans, and the old ones felt betrayed: Spellbound has decided to conduct an open heart surgery without knowing anything about cardiac surgery or what is best for the patient.
