  • Summary: This follow-up to the critically acclaimed Asheron's Call 2 will provide players with an ambitious new story line complete with an extensive array of new content for hours and hours of additional online adventuring. In Asheron's Call 2: Legions, players will aid the ancient race of Empyreans through a classic tale of mystery and discovery. Centuries before the time of Legions the Empyreans were ushered far away from Dereth for their own preservation. Now these once mighty sorcerers return to rediscover their lost purpose - and their immense powers - as dark evils unite to keep the Empyreans' history lost for ever. [Turbine Entertainment] Expand

  1. Not only does it give high-level characters new playgrounds, but it's also a second shot at life for AC 2. [Sept 2005, p.63]
  2. AC2 Legions is about average for the genre, but the interface is a bit clunky is places, especially when compared to the recent heavy hitters like "World of Warcraft" and "EverQuest II."
  3. So despite a slight lick of paint, especially in the newer areas, AC2 still sports one of the ugliest interfaces in MMO history and has game options that are insultingly simplistic. [PC Zone]
  4. A mixed bag. It certainly adds plenty for loyal players, but I think it fails to do much to bring in new faces or draw former players back into the fold.
  5. The new races are cool, but it seems strange that one of them is only available to those who pre-order or complete a very high-level quest. While it includes a great amount of content, Legions lacks a bit of polish and lot of shine.

Asherons Call 2(AC2) is one of the most underrated games right now in my opinion. I have played the game for almost 3 years and have witnessed how many of todays great MMORPG Collapse

Hmm id definitely say the game has improved a lot, I used to play back on release and i will definitely say this game has really changed. Its taken me a while to get back into the hang of things, but i would definatly challenge everyone to come back and give it a shot, i was thinking the same thing, this game had no hope, but im really likeing what has gone on in the passed 2 years. Immersive! it's very easy to get into but packed with detail. the graphics are stunning. the best i've seen for some time.there seems so much to do and can seem a little bewildering but i found the other players to be very willing to aid, either in quests or equipment. i saw a very high level guy with his own pet dragon, awesome! and looking at the weapons those guys have makes me a bit jealous! yes, i am low right now, but i will take my place amongst them! Awesome. All the flaws of the original AC2 have been removed, many of the game mechanics have been over-hauled to huge improvement (example crafting), there is a crazy amount of content relative to the likes of WoW. Give the AC2 free trial a go. It doesn't include the Legions content, but there is definately plenty there in the updated original game to last you! Expand

I've never played an MMORPG before so this is a first for me. The game is a lot of fun with great graphics and very varied gameplay. It is a bit confusing at first but once you get the hang of things, becomes very immersive. The game world is very deep with many new things to learn on a daily basis and I've found it hard to tear myself away from the game. The game community is very helpful and more than willing to assist newer players with any questions you may have. Try the free trial like I did. What have yoy got to lose? Expand
