  • Summary: The first game in the Assassin's Creed franchise is set in 1191 AD, when the Third Crusade was tearing the Holy Land apart. Shrouded in secrecy and feared for their ruthlessness, the Assassins intend to stop the hostilities by suppressing both sides of the conflict. Players, assuming the role of the main character Altair, have the power to throw their immediate environment into chaos and to shape events during this pivotal moment in history. [Ubisoft] Expand

The game looks better than ever on the PC and plays like a dream too. However if you already have the game you wont find anything totally new other than the odd side-mission.
  2. Assassin's Creed on the PC has left a lasting impression more profound than its console counterparts.
  3. Assassin's Creed is a feast for the eyes. The views are breathtaking, and Altair moves smoothly through the Orient. For all its great setting and dialogues, the game is not as good as it could be and should be -- gameplay is repetetive and rather predictable. But it's good enough to have a few hours of fun.
  4. The presentation of AC may feature some of the best graphics and sound effects seen in a PC game in some time.
  5. The pc version of Assassin's creed is a bit better then the console version. With its extra missions the game has become less 'repeatable'. The gameplay isn't bad but also can't really blow us away. Assassin's creed is more then just a simple game, it's a game you need to experience. Assassin's Creed is also a glimpse of what we might expect from games in the future.
  6. The story isn't brilliant, but definitely interesting enough to make you play on. But don't forget, you'll also need a powerful PC to run the game smoothly with all the visuals maxed.
  7. Waiting six months for what amounts to some minor tech tweaks and four additional mini-games certainly hasn't changed my mind.

A wonderful and beautiful game. The graphics, the story, and the combat are top notch. I know some find the side missions repetitive, but I found out that I don't mind them at all. A must play indeed. Expand

Great story, graphics and animations are very good, Killing people it is repetitive because your an assassin and all your job to do is to kill people and all the objectives are great... Expand

To be fair, there are some glitches and exploits here and there. One of them is the sound, and it took me like 2 days to fix it (there's a ultra short tutorial on it for XP, but now vista which im currently using). Another glitch (or bug rather) occurred when i was fighting the 9th boss (the one at the end of a passage). I somehow managed to kill the biss in the "Memory Error" zone after 10 minutes of nintendo tumbs and tada, I'm dead cause he was beaten inside that zone. Well, apart from these 2 experiences, it's generally is fun. Expand

Good graphics and interesting storyline, although lack of subtitle feature can make the game confusing from time to time. Story progress linear and no re-playability value. The game mechanic is highly repetitive and I wanted to quit playing after two to three hours. However, I beat the game just so I can say 'been there, done that'. Skip this game and go for Assassin Creed II if you are thinking whether to get this game as of November 2012. Expand

Worst Game Ever. Okay first off, after playing Prince Of Persia The Two Thrones i was Pumped for this game Assassin's Creed. Why? Because the producers of the games are Same---Ubisoft. Prince Of Persia was an Epic Series and it is considered by many as the Best Action Adventure on the PC. So there, i bought the ORIGINAL DVD for Assassin's Creed Confident of the fact that it will be like Prince Of Persia and won't disappoint. Okay first off, the starting was very confusing and my friends near me Puked and ran away. But i wasn't gonna let this slip so easily. Being next-gen i knew Ubisoft were trying something different. After the first three assassinations i was FLAT. Yes i believed i had played the Best Game Ever. After the third however, things started to get a little repetitive and a lot till the 9th assassination. There are only three cities. Same Beggars and retards everywhere make the game so depressing. Also since this is the PC version the Side Missions are so Painfully Horrible. Two advantages you get playing this game is that it is Open World and it has the Best Graphics Ever by any Ubisoft Game. The ending for this game was pathetic and i was so disappointed that i felt like Tearing my Hair apart. I had wasted 50$s on this piece of SHIT. All in all, if you like Realism do play this game. But if you are a God Of War or a Prince Of Persia fan or a Fan of Fantasy games don't ever try this game. Prince Of Persia may be low in sales but it is a MUCH BETTER game than this Crappy Prince Of Persia Rip Off. If there is an Assassin's Creed 2, they better make it absolutely ZERO Repetitive and with no Side Quests then only i will rate it above or even in the league of Prince Of Persia or God Of War.
