  1. The hardcore simulations experts may not enjoy the usual advantage they have with experience in flying a plane with a realistic model, but they can still enjoy that they are "flying" and doing it with anyone whose company they enjoy.
  2. Insta-fun air combat, daft and pleasing.

Attack on Pearl Harbor offers some great 'arcadey' action and some incredibly fun aerial combat that is great in short bursts. However players looking for something in a complicated/involving vein are best to look elsewhere.
  4. In a way, Attack on Pearl Harbor succeeds in doing what the much more lauded Battlestations Midway failed to do last year, provide an arcadish Pacific air war that’s both fun (which Battlestations is) and replayable (which Battlestations is . . . not so much). Attack at Pearl Harbor’s AI is reasonably good, if a tad predictable.
  5. It's great fun while it lasts, but once you've got over the initial thrill of the dogfight, there's not much here to maintain interest. [Sept 2007, p.58]
  6. With its pick-up-and-play controls, intense combat sequences and surprisingly nice visuals, Attack on Pearl Harbor achieves its goal of providing relatively simplistic and fun gameplay.
  7. Don’t expect the game to have much to do with a true re-enactment of the Pearl Harbor attack and accept the fantasy that this game brings to the foreground. What it does, it does well.
  8. What this game lacks is substance. The missions, the plot and so on are as easily thrown together as they are to complete. The quick bursts of fun to be had here are indeed intense, and are partially flanked by excellent graphics, but there’s no longevity in a paper-thin premise. Arcade gaming yes, just not in the maddeningly addictive sense.
  9. Forget about flight-sim physics and just enjoy this dumbed-down take on air combat over the Pacific in World War II.
  10. It's a little shy on realism, challenge, and gameplay depth but Attack on Pearl Harbor still delivers an accessible and diversionary ride in some terrific old WWII warbirds. [Oct 2007, p.60]
  11. Attack on Pearl Harbor has its moments, but it will have trouble holding your interest all the way through the campaigns.
  12. Since this isn’t aimed toward the flight sim brigade, the control system is a critical make-or-break aspect of Attack on Pearl Harbor.
  13. If you're looking for a game that is fun for a quick fix, but lacks any real depth then this is your game. Otherwise, don't waste your time and money.
  14. Perhaps the most damning evidence in the case against bothering with this game (as if AI that sees your allies forever flying into your plane and bafflingly unresponsive speed controls aren’t quite enough) is that the whole experience feels reminiscent of a dumbed-down version of Crimson Skies.
  15. Annoyingly, there's no way to change the controls and looks-wise, it won't win any medals. [Sept 2007, p.84]
  16. If you fancy a spot of no-frills arcade dogfighting this will keep you entertained for a while, and there's also a LAN/Internet multiplayer (offering free-for-all and teamplay modes).
  17. It's hard to say who the game was meant for. Maybe the game just shouldn't be played at all.
  18. It's too simple, too short, and becomes boring far too quickly to recommend.

Legendo has managed to take something as interesting as World War II's air battle over the Pacific and turn it into something as repetitive as bouncing a tennis ball against a wall. It offers a lot of missions, sure, but they're all basically the same three repeated ad nauseum or mashed together into one mission to make it seem new.
