93Full of adventure, action, intrigue and suspense. You will be required to use your brain, and your strategic fighting skills to survive the course before you. But it is quite an amazing and enjoyable venture.
-
A true measure of any great series, whether it be books, movies, or computer games, is that I always feel a sense of loss when they are over; ToB gave that to me.
-
92A fitting completion to the Baldur's Gate "trilogy," but was slightly disappointing to this reviewer due to the shorter amount of playing time available for the main game itself (around 25-30 hours).
-
91A nearly perfect conclusion to the Child of Bhaal saga, combining deft storytelling , an intelligent abilities system, and the trademark high quality fans of the series have come to expect into one superlative package.
-
90Add in an epic conclusion to a huge story, new features, and perfect presentation and you get one of the best role-playing experiences that you can ask for.
-
90I noticed that Bioware substantially improved (optimized) the Infinity engine. At one point, I found my company fighting with about forty Drow slaves without slowing the game or frame-rate down.
-
89The best expansion pack I've ever played.
-
If there is any down side to it at all its that there wont be a "Baldurs Gate III" and I will sorely miss my player character with whom I have shared such a wonderful adventure over the last three years.
-
88This isn't some short, slapped-together final chapter, but a full-fledged game of its own. Clocking in at around 40 to 50 hours, Throne Of Bhaal is easily longer than most other stand-alone RPGs.
-
87In some ways it's even superior to Baldur's Gate II. It's filled with high adventure, epic battles, and plenty of surprises, and it's got a good cast, a good story, and more of all the elements that have made the series successful.
-
The story is tight, the gameplay and flow of the game is familiar, but still an improvement over past offerings, and there is more goodies than you can shake a stick at this time too.
-
Another great addition to the series. It's a little more geared towards the magic-lover.
-
80The expansion really adds nothing more to the game's mechanics, which isn't a bad thing. It's sole purpose is to conclude the series.
-
70I just can't help thinking that the "Final Chapter" should have had a little more to it.
