  • Summary: The game where your cannon mounted combat car takes you on an adventure across green fields, desert canyons and deep snow, bombing and blasting all sorts of enemies and cargo trucks, defending your gang and your glory! [PAN Vision]

  1. With great graphics, excellent sound effects and some of the most fun and hilarious characters I’ve seen in any recent PC game, Bandits: Phoenix Rising is one of the best car combat games you can get for your PC.
  2. A truly fresh and fun experience. While the plot is nothing to write home about, the furious combat action - which is far more mobile than in most action shooters - is utterly addictive.
  3. We are well aware that this game has a very simple story, but thanks to the crazy action, a competent AI and great graphics and music, it managed to create an interesting and involving atmosphere which will make you eagerly anticipate what comes next.
  4. It’s the ham sandwich of shooter games. It won’t knock you on your ass with an explosion of flavor, nor will it bore you to tears with plainness, but mmmmmm, when the ham combines with the mustard, boy is it tasty.
  5. Good enough graphics, good enough sound, good enough mission design, and good enough action.
  6. I can also forgive the fact that at times, it's just too damn hard, even at the lowest difficulty level. For $20, though, you can get a lot of bang for your buck. [Aug 2003, p.77]
  7. The racing in Bandits: Phoenix Rising is not that compelling, and the shooting loses its appeal after the first mission.
