  1. A year-old game newly ported to the PC that plunges players into a world of bad camera angles and overwrought control elements.
  2. So much control is lost in the shift to PC that the entire game suffers.
  3. The presentation and polishing of Batman: Vengeance is all first-rate. It’s the crappy camera management and the twisted control scheme (without the game pad) that make it more of a chore to play than it should be.

Basically a step down from the original console games ... which weren't all that great to start with.
  5. Poor, unresponsive control and linear level design prevent this game from being enjoyable by anyone other than big fans of the animated series.
  6. If you absolutely must have a super hero game, do yourself a favor and pick up "Freedom Force" instead.

Imagine the frustration of being Batman and still getting your ass kicked by a bunch of thuggy mimes. [Jan 2003, p.121]

The story is about Batman trying to stop the Joker (naturally), but there are also other characters, such as Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. The gameplay is very fun, there are some puzzles that are pretty good. The combat is OK, because you need to get used to it first. I didn't really like the flying and driving sequences, as they were hard to control in my opinion. The looks of the characters and the voice acting were amazing, just like in the animated Batman series and Batman: Arkham Asylum/City. Overall a great game, I would recommend it to all Batman fans. Makes it feel like I am playing the animated series, the bad about this game is that it's really really hard and also it doesn't have 100% controller support, with some tweaks I was able to make the joystick act as the mouse. It's a good game but it's just too hard and the akward controls dont help either. Also like someone else mentioned the driving and flying levels are hard too and some boss battles which require first person mode are really annoying too. Overall it's one of the best Batman games I have ever played not too great but not bad either. Expand
