  1. A year-old game newly ported to the PC that plunges players into a world of bad camera angles and overwrought control elements.
  2. So much control is lost in the shift to PC that the entire game suffers.
  3. The presentation and polishing of Batman: Vengeance is all first-rate. It’s the crappy camera management and the twisted control scheme (without the game pad) that make it more of a chore to play than it should be.
  4. 68
It falls short in the area of control and suffers in comparison to the console versions that were available almost a year ago.
  5. It's not a bad game but it's so close to being perfect in other aspects that the control issues really stands out.
  6. The game's storyline although genuine, leaves plenty to be desired...The game is comparable to Activision's recently released title "Spider-Man: The Movie," but it's far less attractive and ultimately more frustrating.
  7. Poor, unresponsive control and linear level design prevent this game from being enjoyable by anyone other than big fans of the animated series.
  8. 58
Basically a step down from the original console games ... which weren't all that great to start with.
  9. Earns faint praise for being the best-looking, best-playing version of the lot. [Holiday 2002, p.114]
  10. If you absolutely must have a super hero game, do yourself a favor and pick up "Freedom Force" instead.
  11. It took me about ten hours to play all the way through this game, and if I had not been fighting the controls and camera, I would have finished in half the time.
  12. There's a few clever puzzles scattered throughout the levels; unfortunately, there's also a few incredibly painful flying and driving sequences as well. [Jan 2003, p.77]
  13. Imagine the frustration of being Batman and still getting your ass kicked by a bunch of thuggy mimes. [Jan 2003, p.121]

I remember really liking this game the last time I played it. The story is about Batman trying to stop the Joker (naturally), but there are also other characters, such as Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. The gameplay is very fun, there are some puzzles that are pretty good. The combat is OK, because you need to get used to it first. I didn't really like the flying and driving sequences, as they were hard to control in my opinion. The looks of the characters and the voice acting were amazing, just like in the animated Batman series and Batman: Arkham Asylum/City. Overall a great game, I would recommend it to all Batman fans.
