70A year-old game newly ported to the PC that plunges players into a world of bad camera angles and overwrought control elements.
-
70So much control is lost in the shift to PC that the entire game suffers.
-
The presentation and polishing of Batman: Vengeance is all first-rate. Its the crappy camera management and the twisted control scheme (without the game pad) that make it more of a chore to play than it should be.
-
68It falls short in the area of control and suffers in comparison to the console versions that were available almost a year ago.
-
It's not a bad game but it's so close to being perfect in other aspects that the control issues really stands out.
-
59The game's storyline although genuine, leaves plenty to be desired...The game is comparable to Activision's recently released title "Spider-Man: The Movie," but it's far less attractive and ultimately more frustrating.
-
Poor, unresponsive control and linear level design prevent this game from being enjoyable by anyone other than big fans of the animated series.
-
58Basically a step down from the original console games ... which weren't all that great to start with.
-
55Earns faint praise for being the best-looking, best-playing version of the lot. [Holiday 2002, p.114]
-
55If you absolutely must have a super hero game, do yourself a favor and pick up "Freedom Force" instead.
-
It took me about ten hours to play all the way through this game, and if I had not been fighting the controls and camera, I would have finished in half the time.
-
There's a few clever puzzles scattered throughout the levels; unfortunately, there's also a few incredibly painful flying and driving sequences as well. [Jan 2003, p.77]
-
Imagine the frustration of being Batman and still getting your ass kicked by a bunch of thuggy mimes. [Jan 2003, p.121]
