There are very few games I’d recommend to anyone regardless of gaming experience or preference, but Runner 2 is one of them. It’s a fantastic reminder that sometimes games are most effective when they don’t try to emulate explosion-riddled Hollywood blockbusters and instead embrace solid gameplay mechanics and unfettered creativity.

If you enjoy that type of pleasure mixed with pain, and have been craving a cutting-edge platform adventure with a truly imaginative and polished visual style, look no further: Runner2 is a game that you ought to make a dash for.

Extremely addictive and fun, this is one of the best indie games you can find these days. If you're looking for plain fun, this is one of the best choices.

I'd have to make things up to find anything else that's worthy of complaint about this wonderful game. Gaijin Games has taken the best and most appreciated entry in the Bit.Trip saga and honed it to perfection, small lapses in creativity in the final levels notwithstanding. I honestly don't think there's much room for improvement for a possible part three.

Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is a mix between a platform and a rhythm’n game. It looks sharp, it plays smooth and the music is the ‘Trip’ in the title. Try it for something simply funny.

Runner2 feels like a very natural progression for the series. The team at Gaijin Games has crafted a more nuanced and impressive follow-up to what was great title in its own right. Avant-garde but with a healthy respect for the past, Runner2 is a marvelous rhythmic platformer that just about anyone should be able to enjoy.

Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is a beautiful platform "on rails" driven by the rhythm of music, just like its predecessor Bit.Trip.Runner. Gaijin Games was clearly extremely inspired when began working on the title, and the result is a product full of content, challenging and, most importantly, extremely fun. Highly recommended.

Even though Runner2 is a single-player game, it’s fun to trade off levels with a friend simply to appreciate the finer details, like the different way every character dances or when bigfoot lumbers into the background. You just can’t absorb this stuff when you’re laser-focused on sweet, sweet survival.

Once I got going, I found it hard to stop running, jumping, sliding and smashing my way through the hundred and twenty levels Runner 2 had to offer. The gorgeous visuals combined with the fantastic soundtrack and addictive gameplay make this an excellent game, and it is great value for money.

The best word to describe this game would have to be "Fun". The game looks gorgeous, controls flawlessly and it has enough content to keep you entertained for a long time but in the end it just come down to one simple fact. It represents the core of what gaming should be. Fun. Amazing work from Gaijin games and I hope we see more of that. Full Review »

Everything a follow up should be. Improves on the first Runner by leagues, while adding just enough new stuff to keep it fresh. The amount of stuff to unlock and the online leaderboards keep me pretty confident that i'll get more out of this $15 game than I have out of many full priced ones. Plus: You can put a walkman on CommanderVideo. If that doesn't sound great to you, you don't have a heart. Full Review »
