  1. Overall feel and flavor for the ground war is masterful... Blitzkrieg is a rare gem, a Real Time Strategy that works on all fronts.
  2. Can be a tough mountain to master due to the sheer amount of detail that was placed into it if you aren’t a patient person, but it’s really enjoyable even while learning and is especially fun once you get the hang of it.

It still lacks the tactical focus and strange mix of contemplative planning and haphazard action that makes the "Combat Mission" series so compelling, but as a real-time game ..., it has a more direct sense of momentum and action.
  4. Experiencing Blitzkrieg was a challenge and it was fun in almost every aspect. Skirmishes, single missions, and the campaigns are all well-balanced and lengthy, so you can be sure they will take up a lot of your time.
  5. For those who do enjoy it, the multiplayer capabilities and random map generation provide literally endless replay value. The bottom line is that this is not a universal title, but the target group will be quite satisfied with the result.
  6. As a whole, Blitzkrieg does deliver a decent RTS that will last for a very long time; however the game isn’t at the stage to compete with current RTS standards, still sporting the 2D landscapes and scratchy infantry movement.
  7. Has its challenging and enjoyable moments, but it has its share of problems too.
  8. It's also rather unpolished. But while the game may not make a very remarkable first impression, it does have some strong gameplay elements that give it some real substance and help make it deserving of your attention.
  9. A must-buy for World War II buffs or those who want a straightforward and realistic RTS that demands tactical prowess and no city management skills whatsoever.
  10. Delivers the best World War II real-time gaming experience to date. [Aug 2003, p.88]

Blitzkrieg can sometimes be entertaining in spite of these problems, but it's not the great WWII RTS we've been waiting for.
  12. Thoughtful and packed with units, but it should be more intuitive to play. [Aug 2003, p.66]
  13. Kursk is fine, but not stellar. If you are looking for more tanks and huge... slow levels this is probably for you. But I would probably avoid it.
  14. Forgettable. [Sept 2003, p.82]

Worst game wouldnt even download off kazaa right.
  3. After all those years it still remains the best RTS I have ever played(and will be playing). The amount of units the game offers is simply amazing, and with every unit demanding a different approach you're in for a long learning time. The learning curve of this game is very steep, there are a lot of things you need to master to full take advantage of your army. The single player of this game is very realistic which actually makes it kind of boring since you're going to spend most of the time waiting for the artillery to do the job, you don't want to lose your units after all. What you really want to pick this game up for is the multiplayer, with 100's of customized maps this multiplayer will keep you busy for a couple of months/years. Granted, it may take you a few weeks before you actually win you're first game.

The game doesn't make use of building bases and resource gathering but you do have supply trucks + mining and demining vehicles, that can really make the difference in winning or losing a game. You can pretty much have an infinite amount of units. Don't buy this game for the graphics, buy it for the gameplay.
