  1. Blur's mix of strategy-based power-ups, load-out menus, and largely varied challenges really make this game a must for all automotive fans. In a genre this oversaturated, it is good to know that there is still some innovation left.
  2. It really is a modern take on the Mario Kart formula, done in a way that feels incredibly cool and refreshing. It's a game anyone could pick up and enjoy, yet there's depth here that only the very best players will appreciate.
  3. Beautiful to look at and a thrill to play, Blur combines speed, strategy and style into a thoroughly entertaining package. [Aug 2010, p.62]
  4. Somehow, the game, as a whole, comes together beautifully. [Sept 2010, p.80]
  5. Mario Kart for grown-ups! With cool power-ups! And real cars! In this fast and action-packed racing game you battle your rivals with power-ups but you need driving skills as well. The online multiplayer keeps you motivated for weeks.
  6. Compared to its biggest rival in today's Game-shelves (split/second), Blur definitely marks the more traditional racing-experience, despite all the flashy power-ups and weapons. But that's not a bad thing at all. Quite the opposite is the case: Blur is really good fun & on all platforms. Especially if you're into that web 2.0-thingy (Facebook-integration).
  7. Comic racers were yesterday, Blur is today. The graphics aren't really detailed, but the effects are outstanding. Blur is pure adrenaline, but it can get frustrating a bit as well.
  8. It's great for some fast-paced racing with explosions, and the ability to rank up and gain more and more unlockables make it easy and fun to come back to and play just one more race.
  9. It's like Mario Kart for adults and the best multi-player racing game so far. It's easy to forget how long you are already playing and there's enough fun in this game to last for months.
  10. Despite its shortcomings, Blur winds up being a fantastic racing game. Its kart racing innovations, razor-sharp controls, and incredibly fun multi-player modes ensure that it will be played for quite some time.
  11. Blur is an attractive, intense, fast and thrilling game. It's built over a solid structure, and has a more than satisfying depth.
  12. It's smarter and faster than its Ubisoft competition, but it's still the same sort of racer you've played many times. [Aug 2010, p.96]
  13. Blur is a great effort from Bizarre Creations, one that will introduce a slew of kart-racing fans to the scene. While its visuals don't overwhelm like Split/Second's, it holds its own with cool weapons-based gameplay, making it a fun experience.
  14. It's been a while we've seen such a twisted and "armed & dangerous" racing arcade. Simple concept and raised difficulty makes Blur even more addictive. [Issue#192]
  15. This fast and exciting racer continually finds a way to keep you circling around for another lap.
  16. And yes, Blur is probably less spectacular in graphical terms, even if there's enough detail on the cars, at least. But it comes with a simple enough control scheme (that you can't change) to be arcade and a tactical enough gameplay to attract even those who usually prefer simulators.
  17. Aptly named, Blur tries to unclear the line between kart and sim, but in the process may leave many racing enthusiasts of both sorts uncomfortable.
  18. Plenty of power-ups, speed and adrenaline. The last game from Bizarre Creations is a great success for arcade racers.
  19. Online multiplayer is what keeps Blur afloat. Without it, this somewhat blocky and unshowy game would have been forgotten even faster than a one-trick pony called Split/Second. So far it is the best online racing experience you will have this year.
  20. The sweetest car combat game in years. [Aug 2010, p.94]
  21. Blur has its flaws, and a lot of them are the result of good ideas not working out, this however doesn't deter from the fun factor that the game produces.
  22. 70
If you love a more hardcore racing experience, and the idea of truly chaotic combat sounds appealing, than Blur might be for you. If you're looking for a fun, pick-up-and-play combat racer, then I think you need to go back to Mario Kart or, better yet, pick up the excellent Split/Second.
  23. Blur is fast, chaotic, and flashy. It may not be particularly original or memorable, but it could make for some great post-bar silliness with your friends on par with a bad kung fu movie. Like a skittish commitment-phobe, as soon as you start to take Blur too seriously, it all falls to pieces.

Not enough cars, not enough tracks, repetitive music, unrealistic engine sounds, unrealistic car stats, unrealistic car handling, unrealistic car damage, only handful of power-ups, no story in campaign mode. Splitscreen on PC is the only good thing about this game and still I wouldn't recommend it for anyone looking for PC multiplayer experience because it just sucks so bad it ain't fun no matter how many friends you have playing with you. To put it bluntly this is the worst racing game I have ever played and I have played CTR, Mario Kart, NFS-series, Gran Turismo, Forza, Flatout, Burnouts etc. almost every racing game out there. 2. I really dont think the cover is fitting of the gameplay! Its so cool and yet blur is a nop notch revolt remake. A good game to pass time and u have nothing elsebetter to do. Full Review »
  3. If you like racing games you'll love Blur, the best way to describe it would be to say it's like a cross between Mario Kart and the older Need for Speed games. The game is packed full of content and stuff to unlock and the online multiplayer is incredibly addticting, I highly recommend it to racing fans as this really is one of the best of the genre.
