Beneath Broforce’s hyperbolic chest-thumping action movie-inspired silliness lies an extremely polished run ’n gun platformer. Simple and reliable but nuanced and ever-changing (thanks to the constantly rotating characters) Broforce is testosterrific.

Playing through Broforce’s campaign may have given me heartburn, but it’s an adventure I’d make all over again without hesitation.

Broforce sets a new standard for 2D action shooters. And it does it with style.

Broforce feels like a new Contra. Tons of actions and tons of fun in one of the games we've most enjoyed playing cooperatively this year.

It's an homage to the Metal Slug era, and it's incredibly well done. Best enjoyed with friends and some beers (if you're of age, both for this kind of game, and the alcohol).

A great JRPG experience with tons of objectives to complete, characters to meet and speak with, superlative battles and hundreds of areas to explore.

Completely crazy, over the top, and extremely fun, this is another great indie game published by Devolver, that any fan of action, explosions and legendary movie heroes should try out. It's ironic, chaotic, and full of energy. It was definitely worth waiting for Broforce to get out of its long early access phase.

One of the smartest dumb games since Super Time Force. [Christmas 2015, p.121]

Broforce is a fun game, but it’s overbearing and obnoxious tone made it difficult to play for more than an hour or so at a time.

Broforce finally explodes into its final release. The old-school difficulty might shock more casual indie players, but the pitch-black absurdist humor and deep, dynamic gameplay will keep you coming back for more.

Brash, solid, run ‘n’ gun goofiness that’s a tad too underwrought to be truly brilliant.

Imagine Contra meets Kid Chameleon via Super Meat Boy, with a touch of Sensible Software's irreverence, and you're there. One the most enjoyable couch multiplayer games I've played in quite a while.

Perhaps with future content updates and tweaking, Free Lives can elevate Broforce from the good game it is to the great game it can be.

Broforce is a conceptual triumph that could be successfully sold as a jokey bit of nostalgia, but what's truly amazing is how well it works on a moment-to-moment basis.

Explosive, difficult and gloriously daft: Broforce brings you pure testosterone in gaming form.

You can't go wrong with Broforce: it's a blast of fun, a beautiful and addictive shoot'em up. Its a total package, wonderful to watch - with its gorgeous pixel-art style - and wonderful to play. A must. Period.

Carving your way through a level in Broforce is chock full of muscle flexing carnage, and it’s brilliant for it as explosions rock the screen and you tear through the scenery. Though inventive, some of the boss fights halt that fun, and the way co-op deals with lives is too unforgiving, but it’s always throwing out something new, whether it’s a different looking environment to blow up, a new type of enemy to blow up or another new bro to add to the team and blow things up with.

Simple concept, but incredibly amusing symphony of destruction with a strong multiplayer, spiced with humor and 80-90ties blockbuster references. No one should miss this arcade, no matter if single- or multiplayer.

Ultimately, Broforce is a statement that games don’t have to be ultra-complicated or have award-winning stories in order to be enjoyed. They just have to be games.

Retro madness made videogame. An Adrenaline fueled shooter born into the 80's movies and pixels, Maybe too difficult for some, but that's the way the games were two decades ago.

Broforce is a 2D relative of Just Cause. Got bored? Go entertain yourself. Life’s too difficult? You can stop whenever you want. Just don’t expect anything from the developers — they put hundreds of exploding barrels everywhere, gave us a ton of guns and called it a day.

Broforce is a silly, but sincere love letter to iconic action movies, refined to perfection with rich environments and wonderfully-crafted enemies. Even when you're killed by an out-of-control explosion which you triggered, you'll be having an absolute blast with this game.

Broforce is, simply put, a love letter to every action movie ever made. Free Lives have taken the heroes we’ve all seen on the silver screen, thrown them into a 2D pixel environment, and created an insanely addictive, if not a little-too-difficult action game that can be enjoyed alone, or with friends. If you’ve ever enjoyed the likes of Contra, or even Metal Slug, you really shouldn’t miss out on this game.

Broforce is the absolute tribute to the good old action-hero movies. With lots of guns, blood and explosions, supported by a really large cast of heroes, it delivers a seriously big dose of adrenaline. If you like side-scroller run 'n gun games, Broforce is what you are looking for.

Free Lives Games managed to publish a game that seems to be a love child created from Metal Slug and best action movies. Fighting hordes of enemies, challenging boss fights and classic movie jokes are hugely satisfying.

This game is badass, fun, laughable and easy!! :p It's not a die and try but just a nice retro game accessible to all!! (the hardcore mod is accessible in the options)
However: the price is too expensive :( 14$ for some hours. Even it's fun, it stay repetitive after 5-6h.
But this game is very very nice for the speed-run so ...
ps: playing with a controller is better than the keyboard but this one stay playable :)
