  1. Easily one of the most engrossing shooters ever made. [Holiday 2008, p.70]
  2. An excellent and authentic single player experience, combining great game play based on squad leadership with compelling story telling.
  3. There are some technical problems and crash bugs that need ironed out (especially for ATI users, from the sound of it), and the feel and responsiveness of the controls could have been better. The AI is lacking, but those special slow-motion moments when you score a particularly nasty headshot or a grenade blows a guy into thirds are rewarding and add to the cinematic feel.

Plain and simple the PC version of the game really rocks. If you have the hardware you will find that the game looks fantastic. I really can't say enough about how good the character models look. Very realistic. The game was also longer than I expected which was nice. This game is a great improvement over previous BoH games and I really enjoyed it. This time around the FPS elements are improved and the squad AI is awesome in my opinion. Any low scores say to me either bad hardware was used or the person is just sick of WWII games. I highly recommend this game! Well done Gearbox! Expand

  2. This game is okay, but Gearbox ruined the series' authenticity by adding Hollywood style gore cinematics and regenerating health to appeal to a more casual audience. Expand

  3. Terrible story (typical hollywood garbage), terrible history accuracy, shallow gameplay. The whole game is the big corridor with little flanks at spots where we meet the enemy, weapons are modeled terribly, enemy is stupid as hell, all he can do, is hide and shoot blindly behind the cover. The game tries to build atmosphere, but it simply fails due to its hollywood's style roots (see the first cutscene in the hospital, it made me laugh). Some people point out our squad to be good, but it's just a simple (dunno why people call it "tactical") placing them in the corridor to keep enemy busy, while we flank and kill the enemy. Graphics are ok. Expand
