It can be a fun and useful exercise for anyone who wants to test their entrepreneurial mettle without, for once, taking any risk. Players can choose to compete against computer-controlled rivals in four different industries: farming, manufacturing, raw material mining, and retailing. For a truly adventurous and time-consuming game, players can mix and match industries as captains of giant conglomerates. As in the real world, players compete locally, in one city, or fight it out on the global stage. With so many possibilities, Capitalism is an intense strategy game, much like chess, where players must constantly think ahead. As such, it could easily overwhelm novices. But by adjusting several factors--competency and managerial style of the computer-controlled rivals, for example, can be varied from very aggressive to conservative--gameplay can be suited to various styles and speed. The game even allows a player to hire presidents to manage the day-to-day operations of different divisions so the player can concentrate on the big picture.     This game is really great, and reflects some aspects of real business. You can make money choosing your own way, own products. You can struggle with computer players for the market, but you can be a partner of them. The only problem, in fact, is that industry sector is far from real life: oil is not used for fuel production, oil industry is not requred pipes for pipelines, nobody requires energy and etc. Therefore you can deal mostly with easy-to-understand consumer products like bread, jeans or computers. Capitalism III needs more industrial goods, more links between industrial suppliers and consumers. … Expand

    Compared to Capitalism Plus there is a absolutely new and lot more complex board management system. A nice graphics too.

    Extremely addictive. One of the best games I've ever played. Would probably be an excellent teaching tool for a high school Economics class.

    This is one of the real game for adults. A game you need to put some thoughts in it. If you are looking for something that you can finish in 2 days, do not try CapII. Once you've built your empire, you will see your name on top of Bill Gates.

    This is a great business simulation game, actually one of my favourite game on pc. Need some time to know the general function of it but once you learn you can't stop playing. And if ever they make a Capitalism 3, hope they add more campaigns, have a world based economy, more products, bigger cities. But that's just me, always complaning, never satisfied... :)

    It's a good game but it's somewhat lacing in the managment area, like wouldn't it be greate if you could hire managers and give them a very specific area to work with.

    Needs no sequel. By far the best game I'ver ever played. If a sequel came out, I would buy a thousand copies and give them out for free to people in my community. Just the best game ever. I would only change one thing - there is no inflation rate. Make the inflation rate equal the money supply and have consumer prices lag like in the real world. Thank you so much Trevor. I could play this game for two days straight at a time.… Expand

    And this one, is the most complete, fun ... of all!

    oh, and it teaches you a lot! Almost a MBA! (microeconomy...)

    I really love this game for its complexity and it's example of how tycoons should be made. Apart of this game, I've never seen something that good and addictive.

    The game requires quite some effort to learn, but once competition picks up against the aggressive AI, Capitalism II shows its colors as a great strategy game. Also, as if to help your own bottom line, the game's a real bargain at $20.
