It is not the most cutting edge conversion, but the lavish art manages to shine even more in this sharper, prettier and more fluid version of Lords of Shadow. So, in our book, the game still holds the same appeal as the console versions back in fall 2010, especially seeing that PC users don't get this brand of bombastic brawler all too often. This game won't get any better, at least not until Lords of Shadow 2 rolls around.

Great game with good gameplay, an interesting world, lore, and characters. The most significant advantage of the game is a very interesting and exciting plot. A strong story holds intrigue from the very beginning to the very end. Although the game is not easy, it is played in one breath.

All the glorious Castlevania gameplay with new effects, better graphics and the two missing DLC from the previous version.
A solid port that looks sharp and runs smoothly on modern PCs. Aside from the DLCs, which are already included in this version, the original game remains mostly untouched. It's no Symphony of the Night by any means, but a fun experience nonetheless, with diverse levels, incredible atmosphere and challenging combat. The awkward camera positioning, inaccurate platforming and pacing issues may turn some people off though.
It may not be the Castlevania as fans know it, but MercurySteam has taken successful mechanics from combat-focused, character action games and blended it with Castlevania’s lore.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition covers some traditional action game territory for sure but there are some memorable moments that make it worth a look if combo-based combat and exploration is your thing.
Clearly, Lord of Shadows wants to feel “cinematic” but it goes too far by sacrificing gameplay on the altar of visual splendor.
Awesome game, one of the best I've ever played. Very beautiful graphics, great story and gameplay. Lots of different monsters to slay and many different moves and combos to slay them with, which I really like. It plays smooth on my 2011 laptop. Highly recommend it if you played and liked Devil May Cry, any part.

This game is a hidden gem. It was really made with love and the atmosphere is dense and unique. There are some flaws, but overall a great experience.
The first few levels are quite boring, but the later levels are mindblowing, like the devs discovered their creativity the more they worked on the game
Pros
- Amazing art style and graphics, especially for a 2010 game
- Fun combat
- Interesting characters
- Excellent voiceover/narrator
- Epic sountrack
- Believable fantasy story
- PC keyboard / mouse controls are way better than I thought, actually quite good
Cons
- Tube levels more or less
- Boss fights are very hard in the first levels
- Automatic camera ****
- Savepoint placement is absolutely horrible (if you die, often hard sections have to be repeated)
- Interrupting cutscenes is a real pain
- Resuming from last checkpoint is a real pain

A decent Hack & Slash game, but does have it's share of issues.
Pros:
* Satisfying combat.
* Beautiful and visually varied locales.
* Some fun puzzles here and there.
Cons:
* Unintuitive camera angles and jarring camera transitions.
* It can feel like the game is overstaying its welcome with repeating gimmicks multiple times throughout the campaign, like the Hide and seek game with the chupacabras.
* Giant "Shadow of the Colossus-esque" bosses can get annoying and lose their charm after you've seen them once and with the constant Quick-time events.

This game just not castlevania. Just another annoying slasher from spain company. It have no great music like in original games, no exploration, just dmc/god of war clone.
Can't accept this as castlevania.
Well, game have nice graphic and story, it is not bad, but not a castlevania, just commercial usage of brand.
