  1. It's not perfect, when the different styles fail to gel the game can become frustrating, however when it does, it offers one of the best FPS experiences around.
  2. 75
Crawling across the forest floor to tag a one-shot kill on a guard whose head was barely visible in a tower at 186 meters is a thrill unlike any other.
  3. In all honesty just another military fps/team based game.
  4. 50
Not nearly as innovative as the box text makes it sound. Everything in the game has been done before in other games, and, in many cases, done better.

Outbreak should get recognition for having one of the most bizarre weapons in any shooter. [May 2002, p.88]

Since it liberally cribs from better games that are now selling for $20 or less themselves, you'd be a fool not to check them out first. [Mar 2002, p.63]
  7. A derivative mess of weak AI, mediocre graphics and a silly plot. While not inedible, this game is only suitable for the starving.

Hold your nose through the boring first 2 or 3 missions and find out that you have bought a game that has the fear factor of AVP2, the Hold your nose through the boring first 2 or 3 missions and find out that you have bought a game that has the fear factor of AVP2, the strategy of Delta Force and the quality friendly/enemy AI of Half-Life. Yes, the graphics leave somewhat to be be desired, but if your one of the many that say it's the gameplay that counts, then Codename: Outbreak has that in spades! An easy to decide 9 out of 10 for a game that suprised me in the most pleasant of ways as each new mission came along (after the first 2 or 3 missions/hour of play) !!! Expand
