It's not perfect, when the different styles fail to gel the game can become frustrating, however when it does, it offers one of the best FPS experiences around.

This is where it all started for GSC game world. A forgotten Sci-fi FPS worth playing. It isn't a mindless shooter. It was an advanced game for its time. It's strategic and challenging. Visually stunning too.

Codename: Outbreak is a weird game. For the first hours, this FPS is highly addictive. The mix between shooter, stealth and RPG convinced me. The futuristic story is innovative too. After some hours everything becomes very repetitive and frustrating. Always a matter of taste.

If nothing else, you get your twenty bucks worth.
Not nearly as innovative as the box text makes it sound. Everything in the game has been done before in other games, and, in many cases, done better.
Since it liberally cribs from better games that are now selling for $20 or less themselves, you'd be a fool not to check them out first. [Mar 2002, p.63]
Our expectations have been comprehensively destroyed by what is a truly mediocre title. Save the world from a race of parasitic aliens? We'd rather have a nice cup of tea, thanks all the same.
A derivative mess of weak AI, mediocre graphics and a silly plot. While not inedible, this game is only suitable for the starving.
Summary In the year 2034, Earth has barely escaped the collision with a comet. Passing in dangerous proximity to the Earth, the comet scorched the atmosphere and hundreds of meteorites poured their fiery rain down causing death and destruction and delivering alien life spores which started quickly developing under the planet's conditions.
