  1. This is the champagne of tactical wargames, and the best vintage at that. [Jan 2003, p.72]
  2. With a superb game system, unrivaled detail, great graphics for the genre, and outstanding multiplayer, CMBB is more than enough to please any wargamer. [Feb 2003, p.70]
  3. The game is about as deep as they come, boasting advanced unit AI, a multitude of options, all the unit details anyone could possibly want, an astounding ballistics physics engine and literally hundreds of hours of play time.
  4. All the innovations and improvements in Barbarossa to Berlin... take a great game and make it even greater.

This is, quite simply, one of the best games of any genre available for the PC (and even the Mac!)

Not only is it one of the greatest wargames we've ever played, it also takes everything that normally makes wargames so inaccessible and throws it right out the window.
  7. It forces you to think more like a real-world commander and less like a "wargamer." [Jan 2003, p.102]
  8. If you’re looking for an infinitely replayable wargame, then look no further. CM2 will provide you with hours of fun.

Still the gold standard for WEGO, squad-based, company level "strategy" games set in the Second World War. Panzer Command is coming along nicely, but lacks a decent map editor. It's unfortunate BFC put this one in the rearview mirror with a couple of minor bugs still on the workbench, but it shouldn't deter players from still enjoying this one, even years after release.
