Critic score distribution:
  1. Positive: 1 out of 6
  2. Negative: 1 out of 6
  1. Aside from the inability to save the level play, the game is a lot of fun.
  2. Though it does become repetitive and certainly won't set any new standards, Combat nevertheless is a decent arcade-style shooter that should at least temporarily please newbies and anyone with an itchy trigger finger.
  3. 50
Combat has no nostalgic value and without that the game is destined for a short run on the market.
  4. Here's an oddity: there's no auto-save after each level, or even manual saves. With 30 single-player levels, including bosses, it sure would've been nice to load any level you'd completed. [Mar 2002, p.64]
  5. 50
Apparently, the developers were huge TRON fans. The tanks, the levels and the style of play are very inspired by the 1982 movie.
  6. It's simple and initially somewhat fun, but after a while it grows pretty monotonous.
