The campaign is usually enough addition for an expansion pack as it is. The extra work the team did on the Generals' Challenge mode is awesome.

The addition of the specialized generals, however, pushes this expansion set over the top. If you've already got Generals, you cannot go wrong with getting Zero Hour.
  3. A great expansion that's a must for anyone who enjoyed Generals. It fundamentally improves the core game, it and should ensure that C&C Generals continues to be popular well into the next year.
  4. The new additions lack enough substance to make Zero Hour worth the investment for those who weren’t sold on the original.

It is an excellent expansion to an excellent RTS. All the new units add unparalled depth to strategy.
  2. This is great DLC for an already great RTS. This game shows people how good c&c can be. There are a few problems like balancing issues and the AI is not perfect however this game is a must buy for any RTS fans. Expand

A fun game, with many flaws. With it's Blizzard-style interface and "modern" setting, it's only remaining C&C trait is its ridiculous weapons. Oh, and the computer player still isn't really AI, but more of a build script. And the strategy is still "build more stuff faster" with a few extraneous side-specific tactics. Imbalance is an even worse issue in the expansion, since with the addition of Generals turtling with the US has become all the more easier. Still, it's hard to resist melting your enemies with a dozen superweapons or overpowering them a wide variety of fantasy-fied booms. woot GLA! Expand
  4. I wouldn't trust the critics and users on this one, but I do agree on what PC Gamer said. This C&C game just got much buggier than Generals and is much worse on balanced gameplay when it comes to a dozen factions. EA never fixed the major AI bugs. The popularity on modding on Zero Hour was just unthinkable since you can't run several good mods at once, just one at a time. Even most Zero Hour mods are also buggy as well. If someone can manage to fix Zero Hour's major bugs and make a better balanced game, I could play this game all over again and play its mods. Expand
