It may lack some of the community niceties, beloved maps (Assault, anyone?), and little features of past games, but Global Offensive delivers on the promise of a faithful, polished, and better looking Counter-Strike for whoever wants it. Even if the community doesn't meet the golden standard of 1.6 and Source, CS:GO will remain a multiplayer classic for those willing to put in the time to learn the maps and weapons.

CS: GO stands as a glowing reminder that quality game design is rewarded in longevity and variety. Valve has not only updated the shooter but has completely outclassed its contemporaries. This is Counter-Strike, whatever the format you choose to play it on, and there isn't a higher recommendation than that.

At the end, what matters is not if CS:GO is innovative or more of the same than CS: Source, what counts is if it's fun. And CS:GO couldn't be better in this regard.

When it comes down to it, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive may follow the same old formula of gameplay seen in previous versions of Counter-Strike, but it's still a well-rounded tactical shooter. It may not try anything drastically different or revolutionize the series by taking it in a new direction, but there's still enough there to appeal to newbies and hardcore fans alike.

Modern shooters do their job well, but Counter-Strike is the series that helped build the scene. At $15, Global Offensive is a great extension to that legacy.

Global Offensive takes no chances and it's hard to tell who it was made for. Source and 1.6 players will feel at home with the tried and true CS mechanics and traditional game modes, but GO gives them few reasons to migrate, other than flashy graphics on a few of the old maps. Conversely, newcomers to the series will find Counter-Strike's steep learning curve rather discouraging.

New maps,This game is a great successor to the original Counter-Strike series which features an improved version of the Source Engine. New maps, weapons, and player models give this game a new feel whilst bringing back the original, simultaneously. The new user friendly interface gives everyone the opportunity to try out a game without having the hassle of figuring out the menu before actually getting into the field of fire. Although it lacks the heavy update people were hoping for, it still has a few new things to offer to the players. Expand

I love this game and have over 300 hours clocked in, and plan on having a lot more. However, there are so many negatives that it is a 6/10 at best.
I decided to only focus on the negatives, as the positives are easy to see.
    1. The community sucks. There are so many salty people, that it's ridiculous. I can't believe this 3 year old game has more kids in this than when I played Destiny, a T-Rated game where 12 year olds would be allowed to play.
    2. Micro-transactions. I do not give a **** that they are optional. If they are there, like in KF2 and Other games that you need to buy, it's a ****ing negative.
    3. No story at all. The only story is that there are terrorists trying to plant a bomb, so the counter-terrorists need to stop it. NOTHING ELSE. If we **** on Battlefront for this, than do it more for CS: GO.
    4. Bots are ****ing idiots. Even on Hard, the bots are ****ing silver elites at best. However, advanced bots are ****ing impossible. They literally cheat to win.
    5. SO MANY ****ING BUGS. Instead of Valve, a billion dollar company, focusing on fixing the game flaws, they focus on making cases. The only bugs they fix are the ones that are useless that only 1 person noticed.

I love CS: GO and do recommend buying it, but valve NEEDS to fix it. Until then, it's Early Access.

DON'T LISTEN TO CRITICS, GAME FULL OF CHEATERS!!!!!!

If you don't know what Aimware or Interwebez, in a single game you will know. This game is literally havens for hackers and Valve won't give a $h1t since they problem sells the scubscription for hacks.

If your looking for a great game with terrible support and toxic community (thanks yours truly, Valve) then this is a 10 out of 10. But if you looking for a game that is fun to play with a better anti cheat systeem stick with BF, atleast the chance of running into a hacker isn't always a stunning 90% chance.

I have literally been in hvh games (hacker vs hackers) and this is common. If your going to play this game make sure you get interwebz or aimware or some good private cheats or else you will have a bad time.
