  • Summary: Cubemen is a fast paced, action packed, original 3D Tower Defense game that mixes TD with RTS in single player & online multi-player awesomeness! Get ready for some crazy Cubemen action! It’s the age old struggle between Good vs Bad, Blue vs Red, Little men vs Little men. Use your own little Cubemen to defend your base from other little Cubemen that are trying to run it over. It’s the usual story, but with many very interesting twists.

Play a purely defense game in various modes on a sweet selection of levels, or go into Skirmish mode and play a new type of TD game against either the computer or another human opponent. That’s right.. Two way REAL-TIME TD against the computer or a real person! It’s TD like you’ve never seen or experienced before.

So far, Cubemen is the best "tower defense" of 2012.

Cubemen's simplicity is of the arrogant, even brash kind. [June 2012, p.95]

Cubemen is a simplistic tower defense game with a unique style that is best to be enjoyed offline. There are a lot of different game modes to enjoy and the AI is pretty good. Things tend to get a bit too simplistic however as all of the levels basically look the same and you can't upgrade any of your units. The multiplay can get frustrating as well, as people just tend to spam the cheapest units available.

Visually stern variation of tower defense strategies scores thanks to its multiple game modes and online multiplayer option. [Sept 2012]

Wonderful game, simple yet really fun. A lot of content, replay value, free updates and a dedicated developer. For $5 this game is an absolute steal, so.. what are you waiting for? Go for it! Expand

Cubemen is the best TOWER DEFENSE game what i have ever played! It is just a simple game but it's really cool and fun. You can edit your own and your opponent's character and level theme. You can make now own maps too with a level editor and download players' maps. And the game has many classes too and 3 gamemodes what you can play on singleplayer and MULTIPLAYER! Expand

Cubemen is a decent RTS/Tower Defense game that does well with what little it contains. The use of "cubemen" instead of towers and their ability to move around on the battle field can make you rethink your strategies, especially since they can be destroyed by the enemy that is approaching you. The oncoming enemies can also pack weaponry so strategic selection and placement of your cubemen is critical for your success. In skirmish mode the game becomes even more entertaining with the addition of an enemy commander which will command it's own tower-like cubemen. You also get the basic foot soldiers that will mindlessly attack the enemy base every round. The wide variety of maps make up the majority of the difficulty differences, along with a couple other changes. This is a great little game and well worth the couple bucks it costs. Expand

A good tower-defense type game, also with lots of game modes. It's nothing revolutionary but for its price and within it's genre boundaries and it's pretty much solid. Giving it only 6 because cmon there is just too many tower defense games already. Expand

I like pixels, i like cubes, i like TDs and RTSes, but this is very unimpressive. The super simplistic graphics, gameplay and music has its sharm, the first five minutes, then it just starts getting on your nerve. Minecraft is an great example of a game that has simple graphics that still feel fresh, this is just uninspired. It is also a fairly inbalanced game where the enemy cubemen will always outshoot you and your cubemen, they also pack a greater punch and have more HP. Add to this that your cubemen have an terrible aim (exept for the flamethrowers and laser men) and you have a recepie for some very frustrating gameplay. This feels like the TD "The unstoppable Gorg", a game that also sufferd from frustrating gameplay. Innovation is good, but for now im sticking with the standard "build-towers-sit-back-and-enjoy-the-slaughter"TDs Expand

Fun for the first half an hour or so, but the gameplay is extremely unbalanced, and quickly devolves into tediousness. Painfully difficult unless you can keep your clicks above 300/minute and don't mind a game that simply involves moving all your men back and forwards rapidly to avoid the flurry of overpowerd grenades. A useless waste of time, with crummy graphics that attempts to make a quick cash grab at the popularity behind Minecraft. Don't waste your money, it'd be better spent buying paint and watching it dry. Expand
