An interesting game with a heavy dose of adventure and a moderate amount of action. The action isn't paced at breakneck speed, but it is a lot of fun.
All around, Curse just bored me. The menus are clunky, the mape is useless, and combat is too easy. [Feb 2004, p.68]
Quaint.
You might have some fun with Curse over the course of an afternoon, since the simple gameplay won't keep you busy for more than seven hours or so, but after that, it's a paperweight.
The lack of refinement and execution hold the game back from being frightening and that's not a good thing.
The humdrum gameplay won't convert anyone. Clumsy combat with fists or firearms makes up the majority, and the rest of the game is usually a glorified switch and key hunt... and not a particularly complicated one, either.
Isis strives to be "Resident Evil," but instead ends up as its less-palatable ward, "Resident Unpleasant." [Mar 2004, p.101]
