  1. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun just playing. At times I truly felt like a little kid completely immersed in a fantastic game of let's pretend. At my age that feeling doesn't come around to often but when it does you sure savor it.
  2. If you want to keep a semblance of a normal life, do not buy this game. It will suck you in and refuse to let go, then you’ll end up with the same stench and bloodshot eyes that I have.
  3. I strongly recommend this game. It is the best, most enjoyable and most addictive game I have seen in 19 years.

I've been sucked in by the splendor that is Dark Age Of Camelot. I've had nothing but good times since I started playing. Servers have been stable and the NetImmerse engine has withstood the steadily increasing flow of new players without a hitch.
  5. The fact is, as an online role-playing game, Dark Age of Camelot surpasses any such game to date and promises to remain the finest in its class for a long time.

DAoC takes some "standards" that MMORPG fans expect to see, expands on them with some great new gameplay and interface elements, and wraps it all up in an interesting story and world.
  7. One of the best MMORPGs on the market. It has depth of play, dynamic interplayer action, solid graphics and terrific sound.
  8. It’s impressively well thought-out, and a highly engaging MMORPG that’s kept me captivated for the last few weeks solid. [Jan 2002, p.80]

The sheer scope of this game (to repeat it again: 12 races, 33 classes, 3 realms) and its incredible quality level make it a shining star in the MMORPG sky.
  10. The gameplay’s the thing, though, and in Dark Age it’s the best I’ve yet experienced in an online RPG. [Feb 2002, p.77]
  11. Most certainly the online role-playing game of the hour and quite possibly the year.
  12. The game really kicks ass. While it may not be "the next big thing" in the mmorpg genre, it's a genuine (and in some cases very attractive) alternative to games like "EverQuest."
  13. There are so many things to like about DAoC that it's hard not to find the game charming. [Jan 2002, p.93]
  14. Needs to add depth and variety to almost every facet to make it a great game, but it's very good now, it's worth playing now, and it's better than the competition when all of the elements are combined, if not outstanding in most individual areas.

It features a tighter back story, a more streamlined and interactive combat model, the ability to play the game the way you want to play, and best of all, does so in an easy to understand, even friendly manner.
  16. Dark Age of Camelot can be said to be the best MMORPG to have come out since "EverQuest." It's more updated, adds more in depth with the universe your in, and for 10 dollar a month, it's a steal.
  17. Although Dark Age doesn't innovate much, it's the best and most viable MMORPG out there right now.

IMHO this really is the greatest MMORPG of all time. If there was any population on the Mythic servers I would probably still be playing. DAoC struck a balance of Race/Class variety, beautiful immersive world, and sophisticated game play. The is a real MMORPGr's MMORPG.. if you know what I mean. No hokey WoW graphics and linear WoW gameplay. DAoC was the real deal. Full Review »

This game has been a defining and life-changing experience for me. No game in creation rivals the depth and complexity of the PvP system of DAoC. An absolute masterpiece of game design! Full Review »

DAoC is the greatest MMORPG i grew up playing this game from the age of 11 back in 2002 till now. the graphics for one yes it compared to newer games that have come out its dull to few but it was the realistic of the graphics that made it feel real, the storie line the charcters the classes all schyronized well with the historical time this game was based off of. not to mention the RvR no game out there can compare to camelot in PvP combat running around with 50+ taking towers/castles/relics fighting one realm and all of a sudden the 3rd realm comes in and interferes and its a total chaos but fun you could also solo if u knew your way around the map, even the PvE was great you could group together and raid farm or just solo quests or kill to gain experiance in daoc u didnt have to do quests to level u could just run around and kill and honestly gain more xp from that thats something you dont see in these newer games and its kind of dragging to just do quest after quest. now threw the years ive tried other games like WoW WAR hammer rift but ive always came back to daoc and i would still play if it had a population to enjoy the game with like it used to be. and people who've played this game know what im talking about. but hands down not only was this the best MMORPG ive ever played. It is a game that sets the standards for how a MMORPG should be. with that being said i hope the camelot unchained will bring a success in rebirthing this gameplay type. Full Review »
