  1. Finally there’s a multi-player mode and it’s excellent, too. There are 15 different settings for single players and much more. Whether you like to play all alone or you prefer to play with or against others, you’ll enjoy Anno 1404: Venice.
  2. For a small amount of money you get so many hours of fun gameplay – thanks to the multiplayer mode and the many scenarios. I can recommend this add-on to everybody who is a fan of the Anno series.
  3. A worthy addition to the Anno series. [Apr 2010, p.100]
  4. Although you're unable to build your own Venetian city, Dawn of Discovery 1404: Venice is still a good expansion. Online multiplayer is what we've always wanted and if you're able to schedule at least six hours of playing, you're in for a heck of an experience.

Venice is virtually the same game as Dawn of Discovery, just with some additions. The new trading partner and espionage mechanics are fun, although not essential. The multiplayer co-op is awesome! Building an empire with a friend cooperatively is massive fun. And the 15 new scenarios provide about 40 hours of new gameplay. So considering DoD is the greatest city-building game ever, Venice is an essential upgrade for it. Another must-have. Expand
