  • Summary: Devastation is a high-action, teamplay-oriented first-person shooter powered by heavily modified, next-generation Unreal Engine tech. Set on post-apocalyptic Earth, Devastation pits teams of rebelling street fighters, gang leaders, mercenaries, and ex-military operatives against overwhelming armies of high-tech corporate troopers. Survival, and ultimate dominance, are all that matter in this devastated world. [ARUSH] Expand

  1. It’s got a good story, some neat characters, some nifty sneaking around stuff, team based gameplay, tons of explosions and weapons, and it’s all wrapped up in one of the prettiest little graphics packages I’ve seen in a while.
  2. Certainly ambitious but at times suffers from its lack of focus.
  3. 74
A more action heavy, AI driven combat system and a more robust command and control mechanism could have propelled the title into greatness if the story were a little better and the physics were a little polished.
  4. 40
The real lesson here is that there's a place for a run-of-the mill shooter. Just keep those aspirations modest. Throw in teammates and base defense, and you can throw your entire project into turmoil.

Loved it. Bad AI, but awesome weapons and levels. Great music too.

I never realized that it was possible to make a truly lackluster game with the Unreal engine. Lousy voice acting, jerky motion graphics, boring gameplay... yuck! It feels very much like a budget production. Expand

Horrible animations, linear levels, bad physics engine, no enemy ai to speak of whatsoever...somewhat nice looking levels graphicswise ie, ruined streets, abandoned buildings, etc. Avoid - nothing worth spending time on. Expand
