    A wonderful masterpiece by Strategy First. To anyone who played the or    iginal, Disciples Sacred Lands, you'll know exactly what you are getting into. Disciples 2: Dark Prophecy is for all intents and purposes a straight up upgrade over the first. With an interesting storyline revolving around 4 very charming factions, ranging from dwarves to demonic legions, it is mostly in text format but certainly worth going through. Not the least because of the amazing and outstanding atmosphere of Disciples 2. The isometric map feels oddly alive and sinister, the music is great and the art style is very well done. The one downside this has is that items can be easy to miss on the actual map, with groups of enemies hidden behind objects. Gameplay itself is all about your base, the map but most importantly you units. Disciples 2 is a slow game, leveling and training your leader and his units takes quite a significant time investment but it's a joy to do so. Combat on the other hand is very quick. Units do not actually move around in combat and combat itself is also done in turns, and if you pick the wrong target or neglected to use an item for one turn you can quickly end up losing the encounter. Furthermore, Disciples 2 adds the ability to defend and 'wait', subtle improvements over Disciples Sacred Lands that add a new depth to the combat. A slow, slow game. But a fantastic one at that.     Great graphics for its time. Turn base is a very fun game style. The only con is the battles are not very detailed i would of liked to see the characters at least attack the selected character instead of attack nothing right in front of them. (for some ranged units and fighters).… Full Review »
