  1. A fun -- if short -- little indie with some interesting ideas behind it falls flat on its face on technical execution and pricing issues.

Imagine, if you will, a weapon that not only blows a guy to smithereens and covers the screen with more blood than a MASH unit, but also causes him to burst into flames and even projectile vomit all over himself for several painful seconds before he blows up. And if that isn't disgusting enough for you, imagine grabbing one of his severed legs and whacking another dude over the head with it until he, in turn, spews even more blood and vomit and flames. Ew.
  3. It's a shooter utilizing the CryEngine 2 and featuring one hard-as-nails mega-macho-man with a huge gun for a hand. If this description made you smile, you'll cringe anyway when you see how many bugs can be squeezed into every single map and how thinly can a texture be drawn. [May 2009]
  4. MoB's terrific art style and wanton dismemberment are completely wasted on this overwhelmingly inadequate shooter. [July 2009, p.82]
  5. CryEngine does not guarantee any fun. Interesting action game at first sight but then shows emptiness and boredom quite soon. All levels, weapons and enemy designs are so wearisome that you will find it quite refreshing to read your spam folder instead. [July 2009]
  6. Even at its bargain price, MOB is frankly appalling. [July 2009, p.73]
  7. It's better to avoid Merchants of Brooklyn. Its price is something out of mind when you'll start to see its gameplay, contents and the low level of technology of this game.
  8. 3DJuegos always takes interest in projects of small companies because we consider that the future of the industry is leaving them behind. Nevertheless to support their efforts they need quality games, and Merchants of Brooklyn can’t redeem itself nor in its ridiculously low price.
  9. It’s not a game, but three hours of torture, complete with broken scripts and frequent crashes.

Eh, wasn't all that bummed in the game. Its fun, Im sure the multiplayer would be great if it had a community. Great concept for a game, nice work with the crytek 2 engine. Gibs are always fun if your into arena FPSs and turning body parts into bombs is fun.Bugs galore, bad mapping, world leaks in several maps. 6 for the shear brutality of the game. Full Review »

I personally thought this game was fun. Yes the game had quite a few bugs, but I don't like the idea of basing the score off the bugs I personally thought this game was fun. Decent story idea, bad execution. Game ran choppy on systems that run Crysis ok. The voice overs were over the top, but not in a good way. It Decent story idea, bad execution. Game ran choppy on systems that run Crysis ok. The voice overs were over the top, but not in a good way. It made me want to turn my audio off. The art style that they chose doesn't work for most games, so they should have gone a different direction with it. I just feel sorry for the game more than anything. Full Review »
