Pros: Amazingly nice 3D graphics. Some cool levels (such as the alien level) Cons: A bit too easy. Lots of copycat stuff from Icewind dale, Diablo II, and Baldur's Gate.

Yes I know its a 10. This one deserves it. I used to play dungeon master and eye of the beholder, and this is simply what a game should be like. FUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!

Wow, is this a gorgeous game or what? The models, animations, textures, the freeze-frame action - just superb. Unfortunately, the game itself is completely tedious - it's basically just killing the same monster over and over again, with little room for tactical innovation - but I can't wait to see what else is done with the engine.

Graphics are awesome. Sounds are great too. The music is also excellent. The gameplay..well in the beginning it's very interesting but as the game progresses it gets a bit dull.

Nice inventions. Or strictly speaking - nice alloy of different gameplay elements ready-made from other genres. Good "squad-based" [:)] action atmosphere with quite tactical potential. Some discomforting things but the "Dinamic Pause" put in order them.

Graphics are amazing... but thats all this game has. No content whatsoever. I'll sum the game up... Click left mouse button once to move forward....Click Once to begin attack....hit h...collect loot...wash rinse and repeat. BORING. The characters are so dull and they are all the same. No races...no classes...3 attributes and 4 skills...WOOHOO you sure can customise there...The game is so simple it's pathetic...it's so bad that while walking through dungeons there are SIGN POSTS every 20 feet telling you which way to go. Most linear game since Super Mario Bro's. The only thing that can save this beautiful game is the mod community. Hopefully they can cook up some real depth for this otherwise piece of trash. Dont spend your $50 bucks for another 6 months, wait and see what some real game developers have in store for DS. Expand

The game is almost perfect! The World is Beautiful, the gameplay is addictive, and the character skills are sweet!

If you liked Baldur's Gate and/or Wizardry 8 you probably won't like this game. Whereas you could choose all sorts of races and classes and customize your characters in the former, you can do none of that here. What is this game even doing on a PC? Much better suited for Nintendo 64 or perhaps Gameboy. I'm not kidding. All you do is click, click, click. Tedious beyond belief, perhaps the people who like this game are used to T.V. and joystick games not Dungeons and Dragons type stuff. As for the reviewers.....who's going to say something bad about a Microsoft game? Probably horrible consequences if they did (more horrible even than having to play this game to it's conclusion). The one is for graphics. The rest is BOOOOOOOORING! Lame gameplay, ripoff of Diablo, stupid stupid combat system. You can change a melee expert to a ranged master in about 5 minutes, and bows do equal damage to melee weapons. I ended up with a party of 6 archers and two spellcasters. Spells is another shortfall. Dumb dumb dumb. The hardest part of the game was in the beginning third. After that, you can get a healing spell that will heal everyone for lots of HP, and that's all you ever need. Hack hack hack after that. Not even a remote hint of plot either. Diablo is better in every single aspect. Microsoft stinks at making games, and their reputation is upheld here as well. The gams is fun for 5 minutes, then the novelty wears off, and it's just run, hack, kill ten of the same monster, repeat. Expand

This is an astounding RPG. i'm not really a fan of RPG's, but this one was so addictive and fun. The challenge stays up practically througout the whole game. The graphics are really nice, especially the spells. The only question I have is this; How do you make an entire game with only one load sequence that is about ten seconds long? Truly, magic does exist.

You fight, you fight and...oh yeah, you fight some more. Repetative and boring, not addicting.

Baldur's Gate-like games are great, but there's so much to read, and in Diablo-like games you only have a character , so grab the best of those games, mix it, make it in 3D and the result is perfection! I'm sure in the 2nd part there will be more options like races and more skills, that will just make it still more amazing!

This game is very good, with spectacular soundtrack and environments. But with the pass of the time it becomes tiring and very repetitive not offering incentive to finish.

This is a good game. Sure it had some balance issues, and a few AI problems, but in terms of what it was, a hack and slash RPG, it did that excellently. Was it the best game, no, but it doesn't deserve a 1 or a zero. Oh yeah, K. Dog, you need to get your facts straight, Microsoft didn't make this game, they just produced it. Gas Powered Games was the developer. And they did a good job here. Expand

I'm sorry but this game just absolutely kicks Diablo II's ass. The graphics are nice looking, gameplay is great and you feel like there is a purpose of playing this, unlike diablo. Huge amount of spells to use and having a party of adventurers to deal with adds to the enjoyment of the campaign. Also an amazing soundtrack to this game as well. I'm not sure how you can say this game is boring without saying Diablo is even worse as the gameplay is similar, but DS is by far superior. Expand

Simple, maybe repetitive, but really entertaining! Just don't consider it too much a RPG.. maybe more like a Beat'em Up xD this for the gameplay... The story is amazing, well built and with a lot of secondary quests. Last but not least, the graphics, we are talking about a 2002 game... and it's great! Give it a try!

One of the best PC RPG games. Non-linear gameplay, story, coop multiplayer, huge item selections, and a huge modding community make Dungeon Siege one of the top dogs in it's class, even to this day. In the wake of the horrible console port they had the nerve to call Dungeon Siege 3, it makes me thankful I can still go back and play this classic on my modern PC and still find mods I have not used yet. For the games sage, released in 2002, it still looks and feels great and is a must for any RPG gamer. Expand

I enjoyed this game very much, its probably the best out of the entire series... it is a little bit like icewind dale, baldurs gate, etc... but this one u get guns, u get a large party of heroes, and it just never seems to get old, i just wish it never had an ending

Quite a long and fun game with tons of items, areas and fun to be had. It does lack substantial depth however. Still the graphics are pleasing and the soundtrack is fantastic. The game however did not keep me enticed long enough to finish it and does become a bit monotonous.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing Dungeon Siege with my mates over a lan which brought endless fun. This is one of the best RPG's out there. I particularly liked the style of graphics.

  1. It's positively gorgeous, but playing through the majority of the title feels more like a chore than it does like fun.
  2. A breathtaking work of art; an epic masterpiece that stands out in today’s jaded gaming market.
