  • Summary: The Vietnam War’s most highly classified special operations were performed by the Studies and Operations Group. Consisting primarily of U.S. Army Special Forces “Green Berets,” SOG warriors fought top secret missions deep behind enemy lines. Infiltrate deep into Laos with your Green Beret and Montagnard teammates, hunted by trackers and bloodhounds, outnumbered at times 100-to-1. Rescue downed pilots, ambush convoys, seize enemy prisoners, discover targets for air attacks, and direct air strikes. See why SOG veterans went on to found Delta Force and in the work of secret operations, remain stuff of legends. Operating in the most dangerous conditions imaginable SOG commandos matched wits with an unrelenting foe. Take part in the top secret world of "Black Ops" unconventional warfare. Engage in highly classified operations throughout Southeast Asia. Eight realistic campaigns that take place in multiple phases. Uses Combat Patrol techniques learned in Vietnam and still valid today. Team Building – Train and equip your team and then lead them on covert missions. [Bold Games] Expand

  1. Some of the elements are well realized, the environments look good and the sound is well done, but the AI and repeated “terrified” civilians, fails to elevate this title to the ranks of solid tactical combat shooter.
  2. The games biggest problem, as I have said before, is that it is coming into a market that is ridiculously over saturated with WWII and Vietnam shooters already, and it does not do enough to separate itself from the pack, so I have a feeling it will be doomed to slip by the wayside unnoticed by most.
  3. If you are looking for a great military game set during the Vietnam War then I can rattle off a list of about four great games and three good games. Unfortunately, Elite Warriors: Vietnam will not appear on any list other than war games to avoid.

The execution leaves a lot to be desired, though, and all-too-often feels more like work than play.
  5. Neither especially tactical nor satisfyingly action-packed.
  6. EWV is not half bad but guess what the other half is? Not good!
  7. A bug-ridden quagmire that rivals the 'Nam itself. [Aug 2005, p.57]

This game blew nuts, I have a an exellent machine (2.6ghz 764 ram, 9600 radeon x305 card) and the rain made it lag, yes, the rain. Only nFusion could take a sniper rifle and make a pistol as accurate as it, a crappy pistol, at that. And that doesn't mean the pistol is accurate, it means the sniper rifle hits a target 200 meters away 2/10 times, the pistol can achieve 3/10. Expand
