A port of a three-year old Swedish game called "Svea Rike III," a lighter precursor to the original "Europa Univsersalis" with weaker AI, sparse strategic options, and an unfriendly hotkey-heavy interface. [Dec 2003, p.95]

From start to finish, it is a poorly conceived, ill-executed, and time-wasting piece of coasterware designed to suck money away from both fans of the much-lauded series and unsuspecting newcomers. [Nov 2003, p.138]

It is a step back from EU2's vivid glimpse into a realm of scheaming aristocracy. What I enjoy most about Crowns are the EU2 new scenarios, but they are so flooded with bugs that I have played the first 15 min of Alternate Grand Campaigne 50 times and am unable to retrive saved data AND am consistently booted from the game! If we get some patches, it will still be worth the money. Full Review »
