  1. The third expansion introduces so many new facets to Europa Universalis 3 that it’s now truly an embarrassment of riches. Those hardcore players who like to delve into the smallest of details will have a blast.
  2. New contents, a better artificial intelligence and a simpler interface. With these improvements Heir to the Throne consolidate Europe Universalis III's leadership in the genre.

This was my first Paradox strategy game and wow, I'm absolutely hooked. I have never had as much fun with a recent strategy game than I am having with this one right now, nearly every aspect of the game-play is perfect and gives a really deep sense of involvement. The number of mods and the ease of ability to mod the game with helpful tutorials on the Paradox forums just further extend how awesome playing EU3 is. The only possible drawback is that I learned the game through Youtube tutorials, the in-game ones are lackluster and actually put me off from playing the game before HTTT. Full Review »

Many interesting new concepts bring fresh life to the game. While my overall impression is good, and it provides fun and challenge, it seems that some of the balance and polish of the previous expansion have been lost. Hopefully this will be remedied in patches. Full Review »
  3. I have been playing Europa Universalis ever since it was only a board game. Always found it one of the most enjoyable, even if very complex and long, strategy game you can find out there. I think the various development teams have made a great job over the years, from the initial design to the refinement of the latest version. A great game in a great serie for sure. Full Review »
