I honestly can't dish out enough praise to the SOE dev team for how far above and beyond they went with this one; Echoes of Faydwer is the epitome of what a classic expansion should be and is easily among 2006's best releases.
  2. The game is beautiful and fun, although there's definitely room for improvement.

There's tons of content just on the island of Faydwer alone and you're likely to get your money's worth, at least for the first few months. Throw in a cool new race, gorgeous art design and talking mushrooms and it'll be hard for any existing EQ2 player to turn this one down.
  4. As attractive as it is bolstered with new content - everyone from hardcore trade-skillers to constant raiders to newbies are catered for. [Feb 2007, p.83]

Expand

Simply the best expansion I have ever seen for any MMO. The world builders have shown incredible talent by creating a single zone which leads you from level 1 to level 20 without becoming boring or confusing. Expand

The BEST expansion of all time for ANY MMO. This is the expansion that really re-launched EQ2 and made it the excellent game that it is today.

This game is stunningly beautiful with advanced hardware (and this doenst mean all-over-the-top components - I run it on an amd 64 3500, 2 GB RAM and an ati x1900xt). Shadows and animation bring life to the world. The sound enhances the immersion as most of the people really speak to you. Caracter advancement is very motivating as the achievement point system leads to new choices with each point. Many new abilities are locked free level by level, so there are lots of things to toy around with. No game is perfect, but this one here should get a lot more attention (yes, I played wow, and thats a good game too, but my choice is Everquest 2 quite clearly). Expand
