• Summary: After unending war with metastreumonic Force, the powerful organisation Secreta Secretorum that you belong to is finally ready to undermine the head-strong federation, despite an intense struggle for power. A dark and mysterious universe (inspired by Blade Runner, Ghost in the shell and Warhammer 40K) for hours of original gameplay thanks to 10 physical and psychic skills, 14 cybernetic and upgradable implants, along with an integrated R&D system, all serving a delicate scenario where conspiracy, horror and treason rule. If you're bored of all those standard issue FPS games, E.Y.E. is definitely worth trying. Don't mistake this indie cyberpunk FPS for Deus Ex imitation, for it surely isn't. It has fresh ideas, vast well-designed levels, wide array of nice weapons, cybernetic skills and PSI powers and an interesting plot. The game is almost too ambitious for its own good, which makes it cumbersome at times and hard to approach. It has also some minor bugs yet to be squashed. But even with its flaws E.Y.E. is something very unique. [Oct 2011]

Distinctive games like E.Y.E. are a rarity these days. Its colorful characters, good dialogue, entertaining non-linear story, and multiple ways to develop the main characters are enough to offset the shortcomings.

It's full of so many options and ideas and artistic potential. Unfortunately, though, none of these factors are well enough implemented to make Divine Cybermancy a game we can really recommend or personally tolerate.

  1. I like this game. It has a plot, but you have lots of freedom. playabilityis a big plus in this game. You can do missions while farming money, patterns and research. The gameplay is not easy, at least for today's standards. The multiplayer part is easy to get into. There are lots of games running and you can join at any moment. On the other hand, if you play with strangers, it's mostly a zerg. There's no team tactics or anything, just storm the objectives. Expand

  2. Ok, here is my first review on metacritic. Without any further ado, let’s talk about EYE Divine Cybermancy. I am reviewing this game from a single player perspective. First off, hats off to Indie developer Streum on Studio for having the balls to put out such a game in this day and age. And, I heard that the entire development team consisted of only 10 members. On to the positives: 1. Superb level and artistic design. The levels ooze with atmosphere and I have to really commend the art design team. 2. Supreme gun play. Almost all weapons pack the punch (none of that auto aim retarded console **** here). 3. Runs great even on archaic machines with most of the bells and whistles turned on. What’s better, it looks great; thanks to Valve for constantly updating their Source engine. 4. Great RPG elements with all the freedom you want. On to the negatives: 1. Ridiculously convoluted interface that will check your nerves. And, who designed that Hacking system? 2. Also no training or introduction to the gameplay elements whatsoever. (Yes, there are training tutorials which can be accessed by pressing the T key. But they don’t let you on the intricate details). So, NOOBS you have been warned. 3. No voice acting. Yes, there is some pseudo-language due to budget constraints; but it just doesn’t cut it. 4. In the positives section, I talked about how atmospheric the level and artistic design were. But, sadly this is marred by having almost no NPCs or enemies for most part in a level. All enemies you encounter just spawn out of the blue and it totally killed the immersion for me. What’s even worse is how enemies spawn from areas which you have already cleared. So, this game gives me the feeling of playing a deathmatch rather than that of playing a single player campaign. 5. As for the story, I didn't understand a thing. The way it was presented was just ridiculous. As you can see above, I have pointed out more negatives than positive ones. But my guess is this will please all those number crunching crowds. And if you are a player who is looking for a good single player experience, this just isn’t your game. All-in-all, this remains a game which had great ideas, but just didn’t execute it well enough for it being worthwhile... Expand

  3. Pros: It's beautiful. The Music is nice and soothing. Source Engine = Runs well =========================================== Cons: I played it for 7 hours and I can honestly say that no more than maybe 5 minutes were actually some kind of fun. The mission objectives send you from one remote corner of the map to the other, without making much sense but to draw you into some random gunfights. The enemies may be miles away, but they hit you with absolute accuracy, sometimes before you see them, making you wonder what the heck hit you. Problem here is that the gameplay is simply annoying not challenging as it should be. The hacking minigame is confusing at first, I never really understood it, but I found out that the sequence SHIELD, OVERFLOW, ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK and so on produces the best results. But the worst aspect of the game is the save point system. The save points are only at the end of a mission, and some missions are quite long! Not being able to save for sometimes more than a hour is absolutely killing this game. You won't risk anything just in order to survive, spoiling all the fun that's still left. Because of that, I set the game difficulty down to "Chicken" (which equals to Normal in any other game) Expand
