  • Summary: This latest entry in the post-nuclear "Fallout" series is not the third chronological installment, but rather a spin-off that takes place between the first two episodes and which shifts the focus of the series from its original RPG, story-based roots in favor of strategic, tactical, squad-based combat. 1. A very enjoyable game with an intriguing storyline, a captivating environment, and engrossing gameplay.
  2. The game has plenty of swearing, and lots of gore. I like running around nearly dead--you leave a big trail of red wherever you go. Ok, so maybe it is over the top, but at least somebody still has some cajones out there.
  3. For serious gamers who want a long squad-based game -- it's challenging, it has hours of gameplay, the Fallout universe is faithfully recreated and the production values are top-notch. It's not a game for everyone, though; the difficulty and squad-based strategy will turn some gamers off.
  4. It will push you to be a better gamer, but once complete it has little replay value.
  5. If you're a fan of squad-based combat, this title is a must!
  6. Contains all the best elements of its predecessors, and introduces novelties that will make it popular today.
  7. Many strategy fans will appreciate the depth and Fallout groupies will love the continuity, but some things like control in CTB mode or the pace in the classic style may drop bombs in the wrong places.

A classic 3rd person shooter - this game is awesome! Multiplayer functionality is really cool too. I would highly recommend this game.

Fallout Tactics is a great game. Anyone who says this doesn't deserve the name "Fallout" hasn't played Fallout. The story is great, entertaining, and engaging, and straight out of the Fallout fiction. While the RPG elements of the previous two Fallout installments are mostly absent, Fallout Tactics gives you complete control of each member of your party down to the clothes they wear, the guns they carry, and exactly what they do. As you travel the wastes, you can pick up additional team members and types, making the customizability of this game and replayability immense. I have played and replayed this game multiple times, as the graphics and gameplay have stood up over the years quite well. My only complaint is the linearity of the storyline, but even then you can just go wander the wastelands if you feel like it, which is fun in itself (albeit dangerous). I wish I could find a game as well put together as Fallout Tactics these days. Expand

This is a really decent tactical squad game, i bought it as an x-com refugee looking for more of the same and was not disappointed. The building of your squad and play style is reminiscent of baldurs gate and you may nostalgically recognize more than a few voices throughout.

It loses a mark for a few bugs to do with enemy miniguns and the annoying random attacks when you travel.

This game is not really a Fallout, has weak plot (sometimes without any sense), but difficulty is high enough, combat needs thining and planning, and gives fun. Game balansing is good and there are many ways to finish missions. Expand

A very different idea to the original fallouts while still visually looking similar and concentrating on the same universe. Fallout tactics concentrates on... well.. tactics. And it does it well. Imagine Jagged Alliance in the fallout universe. Expand

Seems more like a mission to mission based game as in the Laser Squad series than an RPG like FO1 & FO2. Sound, graphics and animations are not to bad for a game this old. Though still being turn based and and the combat based on dice roll systems leaves the gamer out in the cold just watching the action. I think this old turn based mechanic has really had its day for me oh well. Expand
