I was happy with this game, it did seem to not be as well made as the other two games. The AI at times is laughable. The story how ever is the strongest in this game of the entire series. If you loved FEAR you will love this as well. If you have never played FEAR before, you probably should look elsewhere for a FPS.

This game seems like an amateur developed FEAR mod for a lot of it. It looks worse then the original game, which came out in 2005, and is a total rip off at $30. The multiplayer is more or less the same as FEAR and FEAR combat, except less people are playing. All in all the game is pretty poor and very boring.

Terrible game! If you loved FEAR you must go to the shop. If you don't love FEAR.

I know critics have blasted this one.I think this is a solid shooter. Why they have critisized?Because most of them have played only first two levels which are I admit terrible.but form level three it regains real FEAR type.and those are real fun.grafic design is a bit repititive at first two levels.

Very average game. Made for hardcore fans of F.E.A.R. franchise. There are some good ideas, especially at the end of the game but suddenly, everything is ridiculously left out like developpers was facing a dead end or out of imagination. The 3D engine is totally unfitted to hudge outdoor environments which look more than ever generic and recycled from previous F.E.A.R. Some textures still look good, others are terrible or ugly. Combats are as usual nice and sometimes funny but new weapons won't change the fact that the gameplay is repetitive and boring at the end. Bottom line : it's time for F.E.A.R to end this painful and still unexplained story. $29.95 is somewhere a total rip off for your wallet. Expand

the game is advertised as an expansion to the orginal fear, and it is just that. it has a few new weapons, a few new bad guys, albeit rather uninspired and underdeveloped. the little extra spice to the evironment was nice; i thouroghly enjoyed blowing the shit out of my surroundings, and if you were a fan of the first to parts of the saga, then running into a few familar places was just the cherry on top. and the gore and visions are over the top, much more *holy shit* than its predecessors. play in sequence, and enjoy. It's mostly more of the same, but that's certainly not a bad thing. A very solid shooter that delivers on the scares and satisfying gun-play. Graphics are somewhat dated, but the game doesn't really suffer from it, and the bullet-time effects and blood splatter still look great. The story is engaging and is a worthy expansion to the FEAR universe. As stated, great value for money.

Nat a terrible game; just more of the same. grant you, if the AI was more advanced, it would be great, but w/e. If you like the first one but felt it was to short, then this is a great filler.

More of the same, andI enjoyed it. As usual, "professional reviewers" are out of touch and paid to say specific things. Whenever I hear some talking about the "engine" being the problem, I know there is something wrong (these are the idiots who still say they play Half Life 1 all the time). Plain and simple, this is a nice shooter for the FEAR series. I still had fun, and still enjoyed the FEAR style gameplay. The latter half of the game had some really spooky weird guys in the floor too! Yes, the scenery looks similar (it is FEAR for goodness sake) but the abandoned subway/city is really cool (I wanted more of that). And the new assault rifle is pretty nice too. The new weapons are not earth shattering, but they are decent, especially the new assault rifle. As usual, reviews are all over the place. What do people want anyway. These are the same folks who said Crysis was amazing, and most of the customer reviews said quite the opposite. Oh well, never believe what you read on the internet I guess. Expand

F.E.A.R Perseus Mandate was so scary, which is the best aspect of this game and I love it so much. FEAR game was create so scary because of the quiet environment, and this is what really shock you because you were so unexpected and suddenly monster came to your back and kill you. It is a bit worst compare to the original game, however I never expect a DLC would have done this much better. It worth a 9, a ten will need to show improvements however I have found nothing. Overall I love it, it was amazing. Expand

  1. Unfortunately, the new enemies aren't that much different from the original ones, and the additional weapons don't add much to the game. Veteran players will have a persistent "been there, done that" feeling throughout the adventure, while newcomers may feel a little lost, since Perseus Mandate makes so many direct references to the previous games.

We'll make this easy. If you're a fan of F.E.A.R. and have just been looking for more of the same firefights with a couple of new weapons and enemies, then you're probably going to find Perseus Mandate fun. If you're looking for something new or compelling and some flahy sound or visuals, don't bother.
  3. F.E.A.R. doesn't deliver this time around, the looks are fading and the sounds aren't at all new and fresh.
