  1. A small evolutionary step above what Stormfront did with The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and players who appreciate that brand of brute-force, hack-and-slash gameplay should find in it a great-looking and enjoyable, if somewhat familiar, experience.
  2. But at around 7 or 8 hours and with no multiplayer or real longevity beyond playing on Hard difficulty, it's just as well that the game has a budget price tag.

Demon Stone deserves 75% because it’s not the best hack and slash game out there, probably because it’s a measly port that they probably threw together at the last minute.
  4. The game is also rather short, which is both good and bad; it's bad because… well, because *I* say it's bad; and good, because you'll get sick of that linear hack-and-slash action.
  5. The "Serious Sam" of the "D&D" genre: fast, brutal, and ultimately a teeny bit dull. [Apr 2005, p.100]

A solid hack-n-slash game that will appeal to fans of the genre, though it'll wear thin quickly.

There's a decent plot, and the game's fantastic graphics really make you feel like you're in Faerûn. And for a brawler, it's a very playable game. However, compared to other games, it's more like an interactive movie.

The incessant clicking is reminiscent of, but nearly as gratifying as, using a retractable ballpoint pen. [Apr 2005, p.86]
  9. If you want a game with good fight mechanics that stands up well on the PC, you should get "Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within." If you want a standard shoddy port of a console game, you should get this. It's fun, but it doesn't belong.

I got this game used for € 3, and the game is good worth the money. I'm at 1/3 of the story and while it's nothing like Diablo or Dragon Age,I got this game used for € 3, and the game is good worth the money. I'm at 1/3 of the story and while it's nothing like Diablo or Dragon Age, I especially like the D&D character leveling between each chapter.
It seems like in the end you'll be able to get the best of stuff anyhow, but so far I still have to choose what to pick - choose a +X weapon or rather a bonus defence and skills? Thumbs up for that tiny boardgame feeling brought to the computer! :3

While unskippable cut scenes and repetition keep this title from being great, it's still worth a quick play through. There were many momentsWhile unskippable cut scenes and repetition keep this title from being great, it's still worth a quick play through. There were many moments of true epic-ness throughout the game's 10 mission campaign that left me just interested enough to put up with the average-ness of everything else. Full Review »
