  • Summary: Elemental Stones: stones imbued with the power of an Elemental Spirit, which grant the wielder of one the ability to control that element via 'magic'.

In the country of Scotsholm, three centuries have passed since they were first created. Elemental stones are now mass-produced and widely
used, making magic a personal, commonplace part of people's lives.

In this country lives an energetic little girl named Arche. Arche, having moved with her family to a new home in the town of Tonkiness, has begun attending the only school in the area. That school is the Minasa-Ratis School of Magic. And it's here that Arche may discover something amazing about elemental stones... and herself.

Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone is hard as hell. For beat it you have to make practice with the slow control system, but in the end is a good indie JRPG.

A frustrating, obtuse, weirdly satisfying experience, covered in yayness and cute. [Apr 2012, p.56]

Held back by a difficulty that isn't satisfying to overcome, but annoying for its fiddly controls and cheating AI. [May 2012, p.77]

After wasting thirty hours of my time, this is one game that has no right to pass kindergarten.

  1. At first glance, one could very easily fool ones self into believing this is an offline Maple Story. They would be VERY mistaken. The combat system the developers have chosen to implement was extraordinarily complex and rewarding, plus the amount of content crammed into this game was pretty insane as well. It is a 2D platformer / RPG with cheesy anime dialogue, and pretty 1 Dimensional characters, but it does its job.... it kept me entertained for a substantial period of time. A+ in my book, and I was glad that I bought it. Expand
  2. When I saw this game in the steam store, I first thought to myself, a bunch of little girls running around killing things? whaaa?...Then I decided to try it out since I do enjoy side scrolling beat 'em ups, and I was surprised to how much I enjoyed the combat as well as the cutesy dialog, This is an example of a person who plays games and knows what to add into games, game developers today I think goto school to learn how to make games and have not actually played a game in their life, that or lost touch with their gaming side. 3. The gameplay is fun and the combat system is far better than expected, it is both fun while there is plenty of moves you can do. Only thing could be that the companion AI is a bit too good, especially if you let it play as the main character and see her wreck up some combos while dodging pretty much everything.
The story in the game isn't exactly a masterpiece, but it isn't exactly bad either. Graphically it isn't really anything to brag about, the animations are pretty good and so on, sadly the game does not support higher resolutions(Though what to expect) There is plenty of hours to put in the game, and it is cheap too.
If you are interested in the game but aren't certain about buying it then I recommend getting it on a Steam sale.

  4. If there's anything that needs to be said about this game, it's that it is incredibly difficult. The difficulty borders along that line of "Incredibly Satisfying" and "Pull your hair out from irritation". It takes a LOT of getting used to, but overall this game is charming, cute, and funny. The story isn't exactly mind blowing, but the like-able characters make it worth sitting down and listening to. There are some obvious flaws, like massive difficulty spikes, unfair situations, and a bit of repetivity, but overall the goods outweigh the bads by quite a bit.
Anyone who is a fan of anime and jrpg's should pick it up, and anyone looking for a good challenge, but otherwise, don't bother with it.
