Dec 13, 2012Frozen Hearth is the Dark Souls of the RTS genre: damn challenging, at times infuriating, but rewarding to the persistent multi-tasking player. It's a shame there wasn't a bit more spit and polish before final release, because when Frozen Hearth isn't distracting you with oddities or omissions, it's actually a rewarding experience.
Apr 18, 2013Frozen Hearth is an overambitious RTS game, with several good ideas such as specialization of your army, and focus on battles instead of base management. The lack of Internet support in a game designed for cooperation, as well as many glitches and unpolished features are major drawbacks.

There's something in there for everyone willing to sit down and take the reigns of what is sure to be a big hit when it gets on steam. Resource Management? Check.
RPG stuff? Check that too.
Hero Units? Like the ones you love from Dota, Hon and Lol? Double Check.
Campaign Story, Multiplayer scenarios and Co-op? Check, Check and Check.
Sometimes this game can get crazy hard and I found myself getting a bit frustrated but this would just make successfully completing a mission that much rewarding.
Recommended for anybody looking for a healthy medium between the MOBAs and Starcraft 2.… Full Review »
Feb 19, 2014If you are planning on purchasing this game in the hopes of playing together with friends be warned: The multiplayer aspect is not workingIf you are planning on purchasing this game in the hopes of playing together with friends be warned: The multiplayer aspect is not working properly at the moment. I purchased the game together with 2 friends, none of us beginners at getting computer games to work, yet we have not been able to play together. There is little information on how multiplayer is supposed to work and support has not responded. The single player stuff looks interesting but I have no interest in it. The coop campaign was a prominently advertised feature of this game and in it's current state it does not work at all.… Full Review »
Jun 24, 2015This game is not finished! There I said it, this game is not finished and it is classed as a finished game, really!?! Where are the soundThis game is not finished! There I said it, this game is not finished and it is classed as a finished game, really!?! Where are the sound effects you forgot to place in, where is the rest of the music you forgot to put in, where is the story campaign you forgot to place in, this game is not finished!
Let's start with the sound effects, the BASIC necessity for a game, and this game only offers a few sound effects, no sound effects from when you cast a spell or attack a creature etc... No sound effects when you complete a checkpoint, nothing, no ambient sound effects, no walking sound effects, nothing, pure silence, very boring
Music, the music just repeats itself over and over and over, non-stop, the developers probably didn't even have a clue on which type of music they should feature in the game
Voiceovers, the only voice I hear in this game is your main character, who keeps on saying, "I am coming", "For blood and glory", etc... over and over and over again, hardly any of the other characters (in the tutorial) have voiceovers, now I can understand for an RPG game that some voiceovers would not be possible, but for a game that only offers a tutorial where the rest is Co-Op and Multiplayer!?!
Story campaign, no cutscenes, no storyline, no character development, NOTHING, this game has nothing, just a tutorial then after you finish that (which is about 15 minutes), then it throws you back to the Main Menu and your stuck on what you have to do next, there is no story campaign, although in the Main Menu it does say Campaign, which is just you playing the Multiplayer/Co-Op features with just AI, boring
Multiplayer/Co-Op, no one plays this game so I cannot play Multiplayer/Co-Op and I am not bothered to play with AI… Full Review »
