  1. If you've been complaining about the lack of PvP in your MMO, this is a non-stop, complex and compelling game that offers a deep, intricate and layered PvP play. If not, Fury isn't likely to convert you from Player versus Environment to PvP in one sitting - but it's still a hell of a good time.

Fury is a lot of fun, but is let down by its lack of diversity. The core gameplay is compelling, but given its lack of options, it isn't likely to hold your attention for very long.
  3. The title has a lot of potential, with a staff behind it that believe in the game, but currently paying the premium subscription fee would not be recommended.

Fury never once grabbed us like other MMOs or arena shooters. We weren't compelled to keep queuing up for deathmatches, or sprint back to vendors to upgrade our equipment or skills. So while it's a competent game, we simply couldn't get into it.
  5. The Fury gives me a conflicting sense of agoraphobia and claustrophobia. It's likely that it may be more refined in the future, but right now it feels as though it's still a work in progress.

When you realize, after a while, that all there is to Fury is to either fight or not fight, you may just decide to take your ball and go home. [Jan 2008, p.90]
  7. Lacks any sane rationale behind its price and hides within it a game that could have been so much more, but just isn't. [Jan 2008, p.78]

It's important to note that there are some very solid fundamental designs at work here, and an entertaining game can be found if you have the patience to stomach the painful technical issues and the small user base that currently plagues Fury. In a best-case scenario, Fury's population would quadruple in the next six months, and with a larger community, some of the player-matching issues would clear up.
  9. Go pick up a cheap copy of any flavor of Guild Wars if you want subscription-free heroic fantasy PvP.
  10. 50
The single worst feature of Fury has to be its utter unforgiving nature when it comes to creating your character.

Too clever for its own good. [Jan 2008, p.80]
  12. The game wants to be an all-out action extravaganza, when in reality the end product is full of technical issues and poor gameplay.
  13. True to its title, this fantasy action game will make you furious.

It's a messy button-masher that makes you really wish it had been able to realize its potential. Don't write it off completely, though...let's talk again in about six months.
  15. Its mediocre visuals will tax your PC like an Inland Revenue man hopped up on crack; we had to scale the settings right down in order to make it remotely playable, and even then it crashed us back to the desktop with depressing regularity. Perhaps it was trying to tell us something.

There is no world pvp pve or what have you, It's a simple versus game like every other online game except fury has a glorified lobby which you can move in. It would be like making a graphical lobby instead of a text based one for diablo 2 or tf2 and instead of browsing games in a browser you left click an npc in a graphical lobby and browse them there then call them mmorpg and mmofps, I think not. The games graphics look washed out, might have something to do with the unreal 3 engine so i can see them being improved once the engine gets a fix. The game play is complex and confusing at best with fotm builds running supreme, The skill is finding the fotm build or having a friend tell you it. Full Review »

I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit. I think I understand why the early reviewers gave this game such horribly bad ratings. Basically I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit. I think I understand why the early reviewers gave this game such horribly bad ratings. Basically when this game first came out it was apparently a god-awful piece of crap. However after many numerous patches and updates the game has vastly improved. This game reminds me of Guild Wars minus the pve elements, and on top of that it has a WoW user interface. Being that this game was developed on the Unreal Tournament 3 engine things like knocking someone off a cliff are possible, and ragdoll physics as well can be very impressive. Basically as said previously Fury is an entirely pvp focused game, which for me is a very good thing. However I realize that players like myself are apparently in the minority and therefore I can understand why many people flat out hate what this game stands for. I tell it like it is though, and I must admit this game still has annoyances and needs polishing. (Auction house interface, abilities interface, etc.) Also, there is a small player base which is probably a detriment for an mmo. Even with all the cons, Fury has some of the best pvp I've seen in an mmo. Full Review »
