GRID 2 for PC is one of the best racing games around, thanks to an excellent AI and gorgeous graphics.

Grid 2 is a racing game that rewards skill without punishing you for the tiniest mistakes, letting you master a simple system with a forgiving attitude. It may stray too close towards the easy side of the scale at times, and it'll be interesting to see how the game works online (which unfortunately wasn't tested in this review), but its career mode is well worth playing and you won't be satisfied until you've mastered every single corner.

GRID 2 doesn’t insist on tuning, there is no setup hassle – just driving fun with a great sense of speed. Unfortunately some problems remain untouched, among them the very aggressive AI.

A well-curated car list, a great sense of speed, and a well-thought out career mode combine in a racer that is a lot of fun to play through.

The more time you spend with Grid 2, the more you feel like its caught in a conflict of personality. However, there are no problems here that can’t be fixed with a patch or two, and racing fans will find plenty to enjoy. Here’s to hoping that Codemasters will support the game post-release.

Every situation in GRID 2 feels the same, and there is a reason. Having collected more than 50 cars in my virtual garage, I can’t point out my favorite ones – they all behave the same way, without any distinctive quirks of ‘character’. And locations that repeat ad nauseum only make this feeling worse.

Eye-candy graphics, there's an actual storyline and it makes it a very personal experience. The racing is phenomenal, the drifts might take some time to master but that doesn't take away from the whole racing experience. You're going to have fun regardless. Who cares about no-in car camera no one ever used that in Grid 1. This is worth buying trust me. Expand

There are some really idiotic user reviews for Grid 2. The majority of them can't even spell, that in itself should tell you something. There are some really idiotic user reviews for Grid 2. The majority of them can't even spell, that in itself should tell you something.

Anyway Grid 2 is a solid, well presented arcade racer. Think along the lines of the PGR games but better. handling feels tight & responsive and the graphics are beyond reproach. The game is separated into the usual arcade racing fare, there's the straight up races, drift events, hot lap style events and a quite amusing checkpoint style one too. as well as those, there are some special events thrown in for good measure. The best of these being an overtake event where you have a set amount of laps to overtake as many cars as you can. These overtakes can be linked together to attain a combo, while crashing or taking too long to overtake your next opponent will reduce your combo score.

Unlike many games the multiplayer was not an afterthought, infact Codemasters has made it into it's own game in it's own right. There are challenges to complete, cars to unlock & upgrade and all this is held together by Codemasters excellent RaceNet service.

If you're expecting the next Gran Turismo i guess you will be disappointed, but take it or leave it, Grid 2 is easily one of the most fun and accomplished arcade racing games of this generation and should have a place in any racing fans Steam library.

It's probably a great game for many people, but fans of sims, should probably just stay away.

Besides, it has the same problems all the other Codemasters games seem to have, namely not being able to move the wheel an inch without the car spinning to oblivion.

I guess I'll wait for Project CARS for the next disappointment...

People who like arcade racing games have better choices, likeSorry Codemasters, but you are now only the sade of what you where before. People who like arcade racing games have better choices, like Burnout, Flatout or (sigh...) Need for Speed series. People who like simulation racing games will be very disappointed with Grid 2 and will keep playing Rfactor, the SimBin variety, Toca 3 or even (sigh...) the first Grid.

So, this game is for... nobody. Oh, no, I better say this: this game is just for those impatient people who pre-ordered it and won't admit they have wasted their money.

This game is the reason I will never pre-order again and it's also the reason why I've lost all faith in Codemasters. I don't care what they say about GRID Autosport, burnt once, twice shy.
