  1. If you love the series this is a must have.

The game disappoints with a lack of new heroes and new units. I still give this one a recommendation to fans of turn-based fantasy strategy games.
  3. Adds a good deal of new content to play through: six massive single-player campaign games and a whopping 30 additional scenarios. But not much else.
  4. A pretty lightweight expansion pack, and what it does include isn’t especially interesting or memorable.
  5. 70
A fine piece of work, but a little hastily put together...Due to the lack of a random map generator and due to the limited replay value of the maps, the most you can get from the expansion is a week of playing.
  6. A rather uninspired add-on to a rather uninspired sequel, which could only really garner an uninspired review.
  7. 58
A disappointing expansion for Heroes IV. The few new items available could've easily been available for free, while the biggest change to the game - multiplayer -- is already free.
  8. There's little new in terms of original content... [Feb 2003, p.83]
  9. It's a lot more of the same - the same grinding disenchantment. [Feb 2003, p.80]

I think the real add-on this game has are the new campaigns which are very good, a LOT better than the ones that came with the original hmm4. Gotta love that each campaign is to prepares one of heros you will use in the for a final battle, this really adds some flavour to the campaign since u have to balance them. Full Review »
