75Enough to warrant an expansion I suppose, but nothing has really changed from the previous expansion or the original.
-
70A lot of the same, but nothing remotely new, which, with this title, is not such a bad thing.
-
70And while the campaigns are challenging and engaging, it comes down to the fact that its really just more of the same. Then again, if it isnt broken, why fix it?
-
69Tragically short of some fundamental or at least far-reaching updates, this title will only be of any real interest to the hardest of hardcore Heroes fans.
-
67Extremely similar to the previous games, but if you care more about the series' engaging turn-based gameplay and colorful presentation, you'll find enough in Winds of War to keep you busy for some time.
-
60Offers enough value to justify its purchase. However, it does not improve the original game, and only fixes some balancing issues that were introduced by the first expansion.
-
The additions are more serviceable than inspiring. [June 2003, p.87]
-
With both this expansion and its predecessor, Heroes IV expansions only give you more of the same... and charge you $30 for the pleasure. Does that make this a bad game? No, it doesn't, but it is a bad expansion.
-
40There's nothing sadder than watching something that used to be great take that long, painful slide into irrelevance and oblivion.
-
40The core game is still excellent, but offering a handful of new campaigns and maps without even attempting stir up the gameplay feels like a gyp.
-
The degeneration continues. [Aug 2003, p.90]
