  • Summary: When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are systematically eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. For Agent 47 it's business as usual, until suddenly he loses contact with The ICA. Sensing that he may be the next target, he travels to America, where he prepares to make a killing. Agent 47 is back and this time he's paid in cold, hard cash. How the money is spent will affect his passage through the game and the weapons at his disposal, resulting in a unique gameplay experience for each player. Powered by a new version of Io's stunning Glacier engine, Hitman: Blood Money delivers the most brutal and realistic simulation of life as the world's deadliest assassin. [Eidos Interactive] Expand

It's an epic experience from beginning to end, filled with dark humour, lots of action and most importantly the perfect blend of engrossing story and engaging gameplay. Throw in some sumptuous visuals and atmospheric sounds and you've got one of the best games of 2006 so far.
  2. Hitman: Blood Money is an extremely solid title, with small problems here and there. If you’re looking for a game where obsessive-compulsive tendencies and people watching is valued over hide and seek gameplay, you really can’t go wrong with Blood Money—but just don’t expect it to be an easy ride.
  3. In the end, Hitman: Blood Money does come out on top as the best title in the series. Blood Money makes up for most of its faults and shortcomings by offering a load of new features and entirely new ways of completing mission objectives.
  4. Though very similar to the last two games in the series, the open-ended stealth action gameplay offered by Hitman: Blood Money is still just about as tensely exciting as ever. A few new twists to the formula, an intriguing story, and a memorably diverse, cinematic sequence of missions further make Blood Money worth it.
  5. This is by far the finest Hitman yet. The level design is superb, the enemy AI is decent, and the story is suitably entertaining, which all captures the feeling of being a cold-blooded killer wonderfully. [July 2006, p.120]

All 13 of the game's missions are well crafted and challenging, but after four iterations of this series, I felt a need for a new challenge.
  7. Were it not for performance issues, Hitman: Blood Money would be a worthwhile play for annyone into the franchise's nihilistic humor. {sept. 2006, p.75]

This game is my personal pick for game of the year, yes, I actually think it is a better game than Oblivion(definitely second). If you thought previous Hitman games were pretty good or so-so(or even bad) this one is completely different and better in every way. Amazing levels, great (although simple) story, PERFECT music, the customization, and the multiple ways to kill people. In previous hitman games, it never really felt realistic, even in Contracts were there were multiple methods, there wasnt as many as there should have been. Each level is insanely replayable, so much that I started a new game RIGHT AFTER I beat this. There are some bugs, but they aren't really noticeable and don't get in the way. Oh, and this game has easily the best ending in any game I've ever seen (although you might miss it, you have to do something). Expand

This game was incredible. It had everything to it with it's sneaky atmosphere, it's tense moments, and it's outrageous fun. Moments when you would be caught dragging a body, those tense moments when that happened to me added more fun to the game completely. I entirely believe that this is the best Hitman game I have ever played, it's fantastic. Nothing lacked in this game, everything was perfect and spot-on. No "ifs", "and's", or "or's" about it. The ending of the game was a bit of a twist, which once again, added more fun to the game. I seriously hope someday Hitman is recognized for how well they made these games and not for just "I'm a spy, I'm just going to go murder people and try to finish the game with a good rating", try to play the game on it's hardest level, and try to be completely sneaky. It gets a bit irritating, but I think you will manage through it. Highly recommended for anyone interested in games where you need to be sneaky, or a spy-like game. It is completely amazing. Expand

One of the best games I have ever played. The first hitman game was great but since then they have been lessons in how to make a game you really dont care about. Thank god IO have redemed themselves with the latest installment. Im not entirely sure why Jack J seems to have a problem maybe his inadequate system has caused him to post his frustrations on here and in the PS2 reviews as well. No saving? only on the hardest difficulty jacky boy. Anyway the game is just so damn satisfying even if your not orchestrating an ellaborate "accident". Just popping an unsuspecting victim in the skull and dumping his body over the side is so much fun. Visually the game is impressive and the scenes are so well thought out. A game im going to be playing over and over again. The game was so close to getting a 10 but its not perfect. Expand

A good game, pretty much on the level of the previous games in the series. Just make sure you play it on highest difficulty level so that it were more of a puzzle game rather than a mediocre shooter. Nice ending Expand

Highly highly recommend this game! It really is an improvement on the previous titles, the sheer number of ways to carry out your goals is brilliant, the locations seem realistic and lively and the backstories and settings for your target add wonderful fluff to the game. The 'infamy meter' is also a fantastic addition to the gameplay, giving a sense of continuity to the missions and possible penalties for messing up a mission can bite you on the ass really is well done. The way the ranged weaponry is done could be improved however but if you're intending to go through running and gunning I think you're doing it wrong. So perhaps it is meant to deter you from doing that.
    Great game, get it.

Terrible, atrocious excuse for a game, and an insult to a - so far - excellent series. Not only is it the worst Hitman game, but it's on par with such horrific messes as "Starship Troopers" (the 2005 shoot'em up, that is - not the superb 2000 strategy). No saving, constant crashes, innumerable bugs, horrible load times (does the talent-challenged doodler that designed the faces on load screens really think that I want to watch his drawings for 30 seconds after the level has already loaded?), wretched performance... plus the "hitman" looking like that night club bouncer that calls himself "vin diesel" these days.
