  • Summary: Developed by IO Interactive A/S, a Square Enix studio, HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE is not part of the main game, but a stand-alone experience to reward fans who pre-order HITMAN: ABSOLUTION. Players can don the suit of Agent 47 as he takes on an exclusive assassination assignment. From a balcony overlooking a rooftop gathering, players will be tasked with taking out Richard Strong, Jr., CEO of Stallion Armaments, along with his entire staff of bodyguards. Skilled players will capitalize on score multipliers, hidden secrets, unlock equipment upgrades and marvel at the many creative ways one can discretely dispose of a body while they work to fulfil their contract in the most efficient way possible. Great incentive to pre-order the game; although I somehow got it when I bought it on Steam after release anyway. I was really surprised by the graphics. It may a gigabyte of hard drive space, but the level of detail is incredible. Yes, it is unfortunately just one map. However, there is nothing missing in terms of detail. Every degree within your field of view has full detail as it would in real life, and the colourful pink & orange graphic tone works wonderfully well. Gameplay-wise, it's extremely simple. You just aim, shoot and reload. No moving or anything. The level is actually more cleverly designed than first meets the eye. You can approach it in many different ways, and the combinations of the order of enemies and when and how you kill them makes it very addicting to improve your score. You get awarded for time, headshots, streaks, hiding bodies and the infamous Silent Assassin rating. There are also a load of easter eggs and funny challenges to go for to give you additional points. The game's mechanics are robust too. There is no hit scan, so getting a headshot on a moving target not only looks cool because it's slowed down when you hit, but satisfying since you have to aim in the right place and shoot at the right time to hit. You need to be very precise but you can do it amazingly fast as well. Overall, considering it's just a pre-order bonus (according to Square Enix anyway), this is a very addicting, simple yet professionally designed mini-game, along with its own challenges and leaderboards. A short but brilliant teaser to Hitman Absolution. Easily one of the best preorder bonuses I had. This single level game was quite addictive and was an impressive technology demonstrator preceding the main game. A good example for other publishers to follow. Expand

This game is not just a pre-order bonus, but a game in itself. The first one to test your sniper, this game is just way to good. Challenging others, scoring up, and being precise in your sniping so as not to alert the enemy, the game has its personal merit, apart from the "hitman" name tag on it.
Unfortunately, there is a choice of one and one only sniper rifle. Along with that, it features just 1 mission. It did deserve an 8.5, but unfortunately there is no such score.

Nice and fun but way too short, needs more content hopefully when the HIT-MAN absolution is released more maps will be added to the sniper challenge, Great little game plus when you pre-buy hitman absolution on stem you now get the HITMAN collection, which in my opinion makes the game more worth the buy Expand

Yeah, It is pretty awesome. But has a real problem, it is too short, there is only one map, has few challenges to unlock and few ways to play it. I'd like to have seen more. A/w Its fun, with sufficient mixture of difficulty and easily. Expand
