Bold and fresh, despite its shortcomings. Moreover, if the original vision of the developers had been fully fleshed out, this would have been one of the best games of the year. [November 2012]

Original survival horror is perfect in setting up a grim atmosphere. You can find many flaws in the game but there are very strong moments which make the game worth trying. [Nov 2012]

I may be alive, but I am completely dead inside. [Nov 2012, p.82]

The end of the world has been portrayed in many ways, but no one has done in a way so grey and bland as I Am Alive. The concept itself is quite good, and at times it's really enjoyable to traverse the dusty town of Haventon, playing a psychological game with it's pesky inhabitants. Most times though, it simply is a clumsy and mediocre experience.

A dark action-platformer which shows fleeting signs of life, but lacks the vivacity to climb above the competition.

The final cinematic of the game ends with a character crying. There is a good reason for that – I Am Alive is such a waste of a great concept.

I Am Alive is brutal; gripping; captivating; depressing; miserable; and almost always utterly brilliant. An unforgettable game that reminds you why we all love this medium.

I Am Alive gives players a pure survival experience at a low price.

Even with its irritating design decisions I am Alive gives you intense, well-presented survival action in an apocalyptic setting.

I am Alive for PC confirms all the pros and cons of the console version, with slightly better graphics. PC users should be more than happy to enjoy this peculiar survival game, who will grant at least 8 hours of gameplay for just 15 Euros.

One of the biggest turds I've ever seen. The game attempts to pride itself on being a "Survival/Explorer" as it has the most linear maps of all time. Granted, survival and exploring is an illusion by itself, but the game literally prides itself of being an illusion of an illusion while having their biggest feature be a stamina bar and "Replays". Literally a few minutes in I get owned by enemy A with a gun around corner and after I died, i automatically use a replay to surprise said enemy with an instant melee attack around the corner just to freeze in-place and wait until the enemy shoots me down. LAZY, LAZY programming, obnoxious grain & bloom art and many situations of frustration if you do not know the exact patterns of which the developers wanted you to take. Full Review »
  2. Truly one of the best games I've ever seen. The game is a sweet Survival game with well thought out linear maps. The cool replay feature is fun, giving you time to think of other options to replay a scene - cool!. Graphix are decent, and the price was right . Full Review »
