Doubtless the best flight-sim ever made; startling realism, excellent graphics and addictive gameplay make for an award-winning title.
  2. The most authentic, challenging, and beautiful pre-jet age combat flight sim ever made.
  3. The finest WWII prop sim of its era. Perhaps even of all time. [June 2003, p.80]

The superior graphics and flight modeling are unmatched, and game's many solitaire and multiplayer options give it long life on the hard drive.
  5. 85
This is easily one of the best combat flight sims you can get and that's even if you already own the original IL-2.
  6. Provides the ultimate combat flying experience, and no perfect place to play it. The dynamic campaign may be good, but it’s not compelling. The multiplayer venue is hampered by a factious community, and terrible matchmaking interface.

Isn't really a sequel no matter what it says on the box. It's an expansion pack. Gamers who already own "IL-2 Sturmovik" may balk at the price, as there's simply not enough new here to justify the purchase.
