A very underrated game. This is if not the best then one of the best zombie-shooter games i've ever played. To be more simple.Graphics:Well not anything to say just good graphics.Gameplay:The gameplay is awesome as well, the thing that many will notice first is that there is no crosshair in the game (which makes it more realistic in my opinion) but this is not anything to worry about, you 'll get used to it pretty fast.Another part that i really liked is that there are some huge maps in the game in which you can go ANYWHERE and i mean anywhere you want. There are no restrictions to that like "Kill those zombies then move on to that area and when you finish you gotta go there bla bla bla",you can just go anywhere in the map and take cover in buildings.Another thing i liked is that you don't have to nessecary be with your team 100% of the time you play in a map,you can go solo as well but only if you 're a "pro" (or however you want to say it).You also have money which you can buy a lot of different weapons (from an axe to a flamethrower) from shops which can be found after you finish killing a wave of zombies. These are some of the things i like about this game, and for those who are thinking about the multiplayer - i can say that it's 2 times more fun. You know what? I am laughing at the people that compared KF with L4D. I know, L4D has better graphics, but KF is a totally different game! There are no zombies, there are specimens, a lot more weapons in KF than in L4D,L4D is too linear,KF isn't linear at all! I had a lot more fun playing KF than playing L4D(although to some people it gets repetitive), and KF is much more cheaper! And it's one of the best games ever to play with friends! Overall:KF is a very fun game with fine graphics assuming that it's made using the unreal engine 2.5, a lot of weapons available, a great non-linear game, but sometimes repetitive, very cheap! 8 word summary: A non-linear, underrated game, it's a true bargain. After played over 100 hours within the first weed, i would have to agree with the other user comments on the subject of reviewers not knowing how to rate games. While it does get "repetitive" there are a number of ways to enhance your playing experience. From different guns, to different positions, this game has hours and hours of fun playing time! Get together with 5 of your friends and try out different perks and see which gun suits you best. Great Friday night fun! Expand

This game was simply amazing, i have spent hours playing it, why? Because of its simple addictive game play that keeps me coming back for more. And of course im going to compare it to L4D, L4D has great graphics, great sound, but it only has 4 characters and is extremely linear. Whereas Killing Floor as about 10 or so characters, it has several levels that are not linear, both made by the developers and made by the players. L4D only has about 8 weapons total, Killing Floor has so many weapons, but im to lazy to name them all, hah. KIlling Floor is a great game, and for the $20 price tag, it is just a better buy for anyone looking for some good ol' co-op shooting action. Expand

I tried killing floor out when they had a free weekend on Steam, I wanted to get my moneys worth out of free, so i played the shit out of it, 30 hours of free later, i bought it on monday. 6 Player classes mean you can easily adjust your playing style if its not working. $15/232 hours and i'm gonna play some more tonight ;)

This is indeed a very underrated game. Sure the graphics are outdated and the objective can get a bit repetitive but that aside Killing Floor has a superb and addictive gameplay, especially in multiplayer. To compare it with L4D or L4D2 is not really fair in my opinion. I love both those games, but Killing Floor just gives you so much with so little effort. It's a bit like in some games where you can almost sense the scripting kind of guides you through the game or dictates what you need to do. Here the premise is much more simple: "I'll throw a bunch of weapons and zombies out there - you just stay alive, I don't care how". It's primitive but immensely satisfying and it still get's updated with new and cheap content. Expand

Not a bad game, occasionally fun to play, but not so good as certain say. Graphics are low quality, which would not have been a problem if it had been better optimized. I was obliged to min almost all the specs to have an acceptable framerate (which is odd for a game using such an old engine). The enemy AI is really crappy, so there is no real tactic in this game, they only spawn and walk ridiculously to you. Also I really don't like the perk system, which seems to me a cheap way to increase replay value. So, fun to relax killing zombies from time to time, but nowhere as good as L4D (sorry to put this comparison once more). Another thing: I thought that the levels where open at first, but they are much smaller than I thought, you quickly know all the Map, and they don't seem to be huge. Turning around farms outrunning zombies, occasionally killing one or two who arrived near you, is quickly getting old. Expand

Despite this game having the lowest metacritic score on my games list, it's undoubtedly my most played. The game is simple yet addictive. Killing Floor doesn't hide behind shiny graphics or a carefully crafted backstory to get you "entertained", it throws you in a map with guns, friends, and a horde of mutants and says "enjoy". If you're more concerned with how well wet rocks reflect light than blasting that monster gnawing on your arm, then the game isn't for you. There's a ton of servers even after you put on plenty of filters, so there's never a worry about not finding a server to play on, the only downfall is that you never know what wave the server is on; joining matches where they're a round from the final boss or already killing it happens way too often. Overall, I give this game a 10/10 simply because the ratio of the hours I've played verses money I spent exceeds 10; in fact, it exceeds 20. eat that L4D. Expand

When I first played this I thought it was a bit rubbish, but after getting past the highly annoying character voices, and weird feel to this game I actually found it to be amazingly good fun, in my opinion much more fun than l4d2. Better weapons, the melee weapons for example are actually varied and have different effects. Iron sights/scope with all guns, flamethrowers, auto-shotguns, medics with medic guns. No friendly fire which is much better than l4d - mainly because of my lame aim. You can change the music easily to .ogg's of your choice, custom maps, mods etc. It is great, like a mix of call of duty world at war nazi zombies mixed with l4d. Expand

If you liked Left 4 Dead a lot, but it's gotten old after over 9000 hours of gameplay, this is a must-buy. Lots of zombie types, all with different interesting abilities, 6 "perks" to choose from that give bonuses related to your main playstyle (but do not limit you in any way), and lots of weapons. Glitches and other associated oddities exist (can't pick up ammo from weapons on the ground for example), but infrequent enough that the game is certainly fun. The creators are paying VERY good attention to it, fixing these glitches left and right, so don't let that stop you. This game would be a 10 without those glitches and other bothersome things, but they're going away fast, so if you don't buy now, check it out eventually. Expand

The best zombie game I've played in years. Left for dead had talent, but the sheer Cockney screams of "Someone shat that b*tch up!" more then overrule. Gameplay is non-pretentious, basically a good old fashioned point into crowd and fire deal, with an interesting trader function. Plus, the teamplay benefit is well enforced- the zombies come from everywhere, even with the biggest weapon in the game a sole player is overwhelmed. The graphics are awesome for an online-built game. The Z-tiem function is probably one of the coolest things I've seen in an online shooter. Full marks, I have no qualms with this fantastically British zombie shooter. Expand

The main reviews for this game make me laugh. "The game is so low-budget" ... yes it started as a much-beloved FREE mod. Even the mod still has players.. players that have other games but still come back to this _ZERO_ budget game because it's so fun. What does budget have to do with anything? And who cares about the latest developments in DX11 graphics.. it's not about the engine it's about the art. The visceral thump of firing a high caliber round and the intense moment of blasting a hole through the face of a zombie 6 inches away accompanied by a slight zoom effect and an extra loud BANG.. it's supposed to be gritty and blurry and dark and muddy. Not perfectly rendered grit with beautiful blur effects and sharp darkness and flawlessly rendered mud. It's a struggle through a zombie shitstorm and I'd rather have my Winchester and a grenade than some shiny graphic effects. Expand

I give KF a 10, not only because it is 20 dollars and backed with hefty support and oncoming free content, but because its raging fun and l4d..just isn't very fun to me.. not like KF. KF is using a shooters engine which is perfect for what it is. MOD or not it doesn't matter, KF is an example of a great game for little out of pocket expense and this will prove to be a wise move for tripwire. l4d on the other hand is a mod as well .. but was not worth the 49.95 usd when it hit steam..l4d2 is also a mod playing a bit of catch up to kf and adding more melee weapons to make up some slack..to me KF hands down OWNS L4D.. one other thing..it slightly reminds me of doom 3.. to me this is a huge plus bc i loved dooms enemies and i love KF's even better. love the dark gritty level tones and designs & cant wait for the heavy metal pack..get it.. its fantastic. This game is really addicting, fast-paced, and requires the best teamwork to pass and conquer the waves coming at you. It has only one mode and purpose, but many will be surprised how many hours will be spent just killing every thing in sight. If someone doesn't enjoy this game I feel sorry for them. Even if it's a knock-off from Unreal Tour. Killing Floor brings the zombie killing coop I've been aching to have. Also with upgradeable perks and destructive weapons of all sorts, the slaughter of undead specimens will bring you back wanting to play again. 20 dollars for this is a bargain and shouldn't be passed up with an fun game like this. I rated this game for two reasons. 1) I'm here, why not. 2) It's score is far too low for a brilliant game such as this. Fun cannot be any more brutal than this, and I would prefer this to Left4Dead anyday, seeing as though it is cheaper and more enjoyable.

Now Im not usually one to enjoy a game just because it's fun, as I am an eye candy junkie and a "good story renders good game" kind of person, But for killing floor I have to make an exception. It is absolutely THE most fun and replayable game I may have ever played. Where Left 4 Dead lacked in challenge and just pure grittiness, here it is, in a convinient $20 price tag. weapons are hella fun to use (shotgun packs a blow never before seen in a video game) Classes are fun to level, but in the end you'll find the support class the obvious choice for a standalone defense agianst the specimens. Although, the game focuses on cooperation and therefore a variety of classes IS important. For instance, the firebug class is great for cooperation as he can efficiently weild a flamethrower which greatly weakens and suppresses enemies to be picked off, and also rarely requires a reload. Gibbing heads off of specimens with a chainsaw as your teamates pick off enemies behind you by rifle is also a great blast. Overall what really saves the replay value of this game is fast paced rounds, numerous custom maps (as there is currently a very devoted community) And most importantly a true challenge for players who choose hard or scuicidal difficulty, making the numerous achievements very hard, but rewarding to attain. Even on normal the game is quite hard becase of the final boss each round (aka PATRIARCH) which is VERY,VERY HARD to kill and requires heavy teamwork and quick planning (which you have only 30 secs. to a minute to do so) In my opinion He should be one of the hardest bosses of all time, considering how often he wipes out a trained 6 player team no sweat. Overall, a MUST buy for all gamers looking for a gritty, challenging coop "zombie" shooter. Expand

A little undeserving of a low 70 score I feel. While Left 4 Dead as its main competitor has much better graphics, characters, animations and such, L4D does feel like its in need of a real story that it simply doesn't have. In this way I felt a little let down by L4D, but Killing Floor doesn't even attempt a story, its you and 5 other people locked in with a horde of increasingly powerful specimins where if you don't kill them first they kill you. And ironically because it doesn't attempt a story, you dont feel it needs one. Although an emphasis can be made on teamwork, it isn't absolutely required for play, and there isn't any of that Smoker snatching the sole survivor out of the safe room just as they go to slam the door kind of irritation. It may be low budget, but the vast number of custom maps, great variety of weapons and cleverly balanced perks make it a fragfest that any survival gamer would be daft to miss. You could certainly do alot worse for £15 Expand

This game seamed to of slipped below the radar for me until they released the last patch which I saw on the steam news. I got it for 17.99 on sale, which was a steal compared to L4D which was 49.99 when I bought it. The zombie combat is a lot more realistic than L4D, and the ability to behead the zombies to make them weaker and blind is awesome. The classes make the different weapons much more effective. Expand

Fun game to play solo but gets very boring. Multi-player is a lot more fun. Tripwire is slow in adding custom maps to their white list of servers for perks so after a dozen or so times on the same maps it gets repetitive. It is a challenge playing on the harder settings because you can get backed into a corner and get mobbed real fast. I'd love to see Tripwire add more maps or add more custom maps to the white list for perks. Expand

I normally never bother writing reviews for games on sites like this. But I felt that some things had to be said. Don't listen to the idiotic critics. They probably spent an hour with the game after it released and jumped to a conclusion after that. Also, some of their score %s seem quite low for the amount of good things they say about the game. In the past... almost half a year since this game released, I have put hundreds of hours into it. Literally around 10x the length of time that L4D held my interest. It is really fun, the guns handle much better (there's ironsights!) and there are much more of them, more enemy types, TONS of user created maps, and, best of all, the game is challenging on the higher difficulties without being cheap about it like L4D is. If you're a skilled player you can survive on your own in most situations, instead of getting pinned down by a hunter/smoker the second your other team mates die. It's $20, just buy it and play it for a few days and judge for yourself. Expand

It seems Killing Floor is destined to be that rare gem of a game, loved and played by those who accidentally discover it, as opposed to having advertising and review sites forced down their throats... which all in all is probably better for the game and its community but still, its a shame that Killing Floor has flown under the radar. Killing Floor is to UT what Counterstrike is to Source. A Raw mod with a few maps and a lot of potential, and that potential is very quickly being realized by its community, with 32 Community made maps in its first 9 days, Killing Floor looks set to have as illustrious a life as the engine its based off. I lost more hours of my life to UT2004 than I care to remember, and Killing Floor is becoming an equal obsession. besides, nothing quite beats the feel of fighting an epic boss on a 100 man server who has more hit points than god... and actually taking him down. Killing Floor is an amazingly fun and addictive game, with whats shaping up to be a highly talented and creative modding community ported over from the Unreal Modding community... and all this for a price tag of $20? Killing Floor, Its Unreal Tournament with Zombies... it should be a no brainier. Expand

Tripwire not only hired the core mod team but did not forget the mod fans and ensures the title continuation with various updates and free add-ons, for a low budget game and a game that comes from the modding commuity it does deserve praise as its fun, diferent and a bit hardcore (in a good sense). Freakishly fun game though I wouldn't call it a "horror" game - more like splatter or hack n slay or something like that... though survival certainly fits ^^ The only drawback is the repetition. Each map play mostly the same. Also some of the shops are placed in a manner that courses the entire team to die in a massacre if there is even one player who hasn't finished shopping in time to get to a better place... This game when it first started was a surprisingly fun little gem of gameplay. It certainly doesn't come off as being the year's best zombie survival game or claim for anything higher than a general sense of fun in slaughtering zombies (Hence the name killing floor). As a mod turned game I've found that since it's latest level update patch that the graphics have become crisper and the newer perks and weapons have brought on more interest in the game from veterans and new weekenders. My wife and I actually play this game together and ever since she realized she could set specimens on fire with a flamethrower she's been a regular maniac. I myself give this game a 9 for it's replayability and for the fun that it has given me. The only detrimental thing that came into consideration was the near korean mmo experience (IE: 3500 stalkers and 5.5 mil in damage with a bullpup/AK47/SCAR to get rank 6 commando) in grinding out the perk requirements. Other than that there's solid modder's joining the steam community and new maps are being posted and enjoyed constantly. Thanks tripwire for the fun and relatively cheap game that's proven to be more than I had bargained for. Expand

Fantastic game, only gave it a 9 because leveling perks is so repetitve. If they'd been more creative for perk requirements, i'd have given it an all out 10. Eg: Get 500 headshots, then get 1000, then get 5000, etc etc. Other than that, fantastic game, the voice acting sounds a bit cheesy at first, but it grows on you... And with free content regularly coming out, it's stupid to miss out on this fab game. Don't compareit to L4D, and don't play it with L4D in mind. For a start, you're not killing "zombies" these are clones armed to the teeth with anything from claws to a huge minigun...more than 8 or so enemy types, around 20 weapons, not including those you can dual wield...crossbows, fire axes, shotguns, you name it... Fantastic maps and awesome features make each round a different experience. There's the run and gun, which usually gets you killed, or the weld the doors and direct the horde approach which goes down a treat. About 60 or so achievements which gives you something to aim for if the perk leveling system isn't enough...Just a fab game, and a low price too. Expand

The game is fun, that graphic are good, unless you compare it to crysis, and other high end graphic physic games. It great to play with friends and other people because it so addictive and almost happins twice in the game but sometimes does.

It's a great game if you got a few good friends to play with online. Love the tactics given by sealing doors and fortifying a farmhouse. By the way, there are well over 200 user made maps! Sure, they aren't all developer-quality, but they alone add much replayability! The graphics look great, whacking the head off a zombie with a fire axe during slow motion couldn't possibly be more awesome! Although yes, the flashlight is quite displeasing. But gameplay is very much more important than graphics - as long as the graphics meet a minimum standard, people need to just stop caring so much. Though they won't... and never will. At least Blizzard has that figured out. Expand

Its not the new L4D2. HOWEVER, when you want to get out of L4D for a while this is the game you want. You aim for the level 6 perks to get better with lots of awsome fire arms on the side. " The Trader " adds what I wanted with every original zombie FPS shooter. Even if L4D2 is better - thats only ONE step. I love L4D2 and one but if you wanta game other then L4D, get killing floor. You will love every second of it Expand

Can anyone actually give this a review without mentioning left 4 dead? it seems all of the users who couldent play / or didnt like left for dead came to Killingfloor and now hold it as either in the same tier or higher than l4d. KillingFloor has the qaulity that would you find in a Mod , which is what this game essentially is. This game features only one mode, which gets repetitive after you have played it several times, the AI nothing special, its all scripted. the weaponry seems to be the most developed section, yet you need to buy your weapons from a vendor, the vendor is a female women with quite a repetitive stereotypical english accent with poor dialogue that gets annoying the first time you hear it. the graphics are sub-par , but from a mod why would you expect more? i'l tell you why; because this Mod makes you pay for it, and it is certiantly not worth it. Killingfloor should essentially be free, or it should drastically improve. its no Garrry's Mod, its no Team fortress ( which was orignally a mod ) I cant understand the fuss being generated over this mediocre peice of work. If you like an extremely limited game with alot of weaponry, one reptitive mode , under-developed features and graphics that maby back in 2003 would have been good - then get this game. If you enjoy something which actually feels like it was developed by proffesionals , get something else. Paying for this game is simply appauling. Expand

killing floor is an amazing game and deserves respect. its replayable and fun , yes the game can become a bit of a perk grinding but its alot different from L4D reasons why: 1. The Original Mod base for this came out long before L4D 2. L4D's Screamer that was going to be introduced was almost identical to the screemer but was scrapped. 3.Boomer is based on Bloat obviously 4. this game is soo much better for co-op not only is this worth the money its worth for he co-op experiance and all those wingers complaining about not beating the patraich. Tips to killing the Patraich" 1. Trap him in a 2 door weldable room like KF-westlondons church 2. Get enough money to buy a SCAR, AA112 Shotgun or the M14LBER Rifle and just shoot the hell out of him/ 3. go as medic and run and shoot while healing. 4.get to level 5 or 6 perk and kill him with standard weapons. i used tactics like this to beat the game on Normal and hard on my own and defeat the Patriach. problems: 1. most of them dont seem to occur on my computer like the supposed long loading times 2.some of the lighting and enviroment effects need to be tweeked a little. 3.they need to balance out the number of enemy types online, too many Husks can get annoying. Killing floor is a enjoyable and cooperative game. This game takes "Playing with Friends" to a new depth in online coop gaming. The gameplay is extremely good with random specimen spawns and texture editing. Bravo Tripwire And as for the people who do not see how good this game really is, I seriously doubt you have much friends either online or in real life nor the capability to cooperate with players properly. This isn't L4D. I don't get why people keep comparing it to that. This game worth every single dollars. Fun gameplay, 6 perks, awsome free releases. The best co-op survival game I've ever played. Also this game recieved 71/100 points in reviews. I don't know where did those guys put their brains, they either played 10 minutes or have no talent in gicing a rightful score. A pure joy to play. Great replay value. Highly customizable for those with the skills to do so. A step above L4D in my opinion. Sure the game may not be as "pretty" as L4D but it's no ugly ducking either. The games graphics are quite nice but the gameplay is where it steals the show and that's far more important to someone like me. I really can't see how you can't enjoy this game for hours on end. This game is very impressive. I will have to admit that it is not as much fun playing Single Player, but as you can see it's through steam so there is a great community to play with. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves CO-OP as much as I do. As far as the gameplay goes, very well-developed, great use of Z.E.D, and has a very well-made HUD as far as Gun interface, merchants, and that you can outrun most monsters. The monsters are very well-made, however, the Patriarch, whom is the only boss, becomes repetitive. Killing Floor is very easy to learn and can even get intense at times when your teammates are dead. Overall this game receives a 9/10 for great gameplay, fun online action, and great interface. Expand

Can stand the visuals but that's about it. Waste of 20 bucks in my eyes. Just stick with L4D and wait for the second one to come out. I have been trying to play, but not enough people online to do anything, single player is a joke when you get swarmed by 10 creatures you can't knock back to fight and no real tactics to the game unless your in doors. I have given the game some opportunity to show itself but its the same thing over and over again. This game is a waste of your money PERIOD. Expand

Overly boring and repetitive game, it's all disguised under the facade of leveling up, netplay is somewhat better but it's hard to find a dedicated teamplay as there is no requisite for it built it, just follow your own path and shoot everything in sight until the shop opens, rinse and repeat.

I believe that Killingfloor is a great game and should not be compared with l4d becauthe se in all reality the only reason it may have bean so good on the pc is because the c is only 1 person x-box version kinda sucked with tis only 2 for a game with 4 players. on top of the hole 2 for 4 thing its also got a horrible replay value after the first 2 weeks with killing floor i can just Keep playing. secondly the weapon choice in l4d is Terrible to say the least. i meen its fun to to light zombies on fire with a Molotov but really do i only have a choice between that and a pipe bomb and 3 different weapons[seariusly thte starter weps do NOT count]. wile killing floor has a nice amount of things 2 chose from in the weapon a small amount rea of the game. next even tho killing floor has only maps at least its can tern out different allot more than l4d. so to end my little text thing just look at this l4d=49.99 killing floor=19.99 so whats better? When compared to Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, Killing floor looks puny and not worth buying. Killing Floor offers many things that make the game fun and full of replayability. The game comes with 10 or so different characters that are stuck in certain maps, made by Tripwire or the community. The story line is barely present, but neither was Left 4 Dead’s. The main maps (made by Tripwire) do have a story. The game has a variety of perks and guns that add to the game and overall replayability. The game lacks in graphics, but as more free DLC comes out, the gun textures get better. You can tell it is an Unreal mod. The game is a casual game, and is not supposed to be played all day, every day. The game is supposed to be played 5-6 hours a week. If a gamer plays for more than 15 hours a week on the game, it will get repetitive. The downfalls of the game are made up by the community. The community is extremely nice and will want you coming back for more. The solo play lacks though, and gets boring quickly. Grab 5 other friends and have a good time. Expand

Are you kidding me, at least KF has some fun to it. Yeah its not the best game in the bunch but whos to judge, it was never retailed to be a full game anyway, so to think about it 71 is actually nice, but i think it deserves well over 71. Killing floor is an intense Co-op game which I admit could've been better. The maps are dull sometimes, Usually you find yourself wandering in the same place the whole time because most are just small complexes. The graphics were at Medium, THe textures could've bumped up a little, The gore was astounding, Meat chunks, small Rivers of blood. When you got a Headshot, You'd get the urge to say: "SUCK IT!" when the mutant gets his head BLOWN apart. The game would've Performed and looked better if it was on the source engine, but since L4D and L4D2 pre-occupie Source Engine Co-op modes, It would be like Having similar games right next to eachother, but they shouldn't be similar. The Co-op is amazing, Teaches you to stay together or your definatley toast, the different kinds of mutants is similar to L4D, But just distorted. Cash System works out well, Kill mutants, Steal their cash to afford amazing weapons like the Katana (chainsaw Fails!) Hunting Shotgun, Crossbow, and other Amazing weapons. Overall i've said I give the game an 8 of 10. Expand

The graphics are neat, the gameplay is amazing (killing zombies for LOADSA MONEYYYYYY, who wouldn't love it?), this game was one of my favorites last year. I completely love this game. You really have to play it, because it is really hard to try and explain how exciting and mesmerising the game play is. I can't stop playing Killing Floor and it is incredibly good fun. The action is furiously paced at the higher difficulties; you thought you needed fast reactions for Left 4 Dead 2? Think again. Killing Floor tests your accuracy and reactions to the max. Absolutely brilliant game play. The only reason I am not giving this game a 10 is because the avatars look slightly dated; however the environments are superb and can be quite scary at times. The other reasons I am not giving this a 10 is because you cannot see what wave the server is at before joining and if you join round 7 - 10 and no one gives you any money; you are stuck with a pistol, knife and no body armour and normally die pretty quick. I wish tripwire would add an update so the servers display "Wave X" making it easier to choose a server rather than hanging around in a match because you died early. I will be playing this game for a very long time. There is plenty of life in this game especially with the levelling up of classes. I can never picture myself becoming bored of this game. If you like the Left 4 Dead games you will love Killing Floor. Highly recommended. Expand

This is a very good co-op survival game. It requires good tactics and co-operation from all members. So, expect to be frustrated if you happen to play with people that do not know their role in the team. This is also the strong point of the game since playing with a good team is very rewarding. Sure, the graphics look a little dated. The game does not look as shiny as new releases but what it lacks it makes up in gameplay. Expand

Overall a good game. The graphics are outdated because its been made from a mod. However, the coop aspect is great. There are still exploits being found, but they are also still being patched. New maps are still being added to the game and it still has a challenge for anyone that does not simply try to cheat. Holding one spot works great when you are playing lower difficulties but when you get to hard and above any spot becomes difficult to hold and running is about the only option. Play with friends and you are bound to enjoy this game, assuming you do not only play for graphics. Expand

Quite honestly this is the very best zombie shooter currently on the market. First off, you actually have to try in order to survive, ammo is not exactly plentiful, you can only take a small amount of punishment before you get shredded to bits, and some of the specimens prey on your weaknesses. This greatly differs from another game I could mention where you're essentially a freakin' tank. The graphics are actually pretty great, things are well textured and the animations are generally smooth. Another thing to add is that you actually have some form of progression (aka perks), something to keep track of how Uber1337pro you are compared to the next guy, and actually help you in battle. I would HIGHLY suggest that you buy this game if you haven't already, it provides thousands of hours of fun. Expand

Killing Floor has dated graphics and simplistic gameplay (think of Nazi Zombies with a deeper gameplay mechanic) but KF is a rewarding experience for anyone who has enough patience to brave the difficult learning curve and anyone who misses a game that doesn't take itself overly serious or loves wave-based survival games. Lower difficulty games can be like and old-school run'n'gun, and higher level play is heavily dependent on your ability to work cooperatively with your squadmates. The pubgame community is hit-or-miss, so I recommend playing the game with friends over mic. Additionally, Tripwire is a generous developer who is constantly coming out with new content such as weapons, maps and keeps the community active with periodic seasonal events for no cost to current owners of the game. The game can get repetitive and the difficulty between levels can seem non-linear, but to those willing to learn the less-obvious game mechanics through its well-established wiki and forums will be rewarded indeed. Killing floor seems to be a game that people will either love or hate. They might love it for the simple and gory action that never lets up. Others will hate the simple graphics and repetitive gameplay. I want to address some of the things people have been condemning this game over. First is the graphics. In a nut shell: I don't see what people are whining over. The game looks fine enough and does a good job of achieving the atmosphere it seeks to create. Next is the repetitive gameplay. I don't understand why people are hating the game for this reason. I keep hearing it being compared to left 4 dead and in my opinion it's just as repetitive as killing floor. I guess it's because they it's 1.a valve game, and 2. they wave around their AI director like a victory flag. Killing floor also has persistent progression with perks that level up as you complete their requirements, and a large arsenal of weapons that is far more varied than left 4 dead's. Other people have criticized the AI. What do you expect from drooling mutants in killing frenzies? They do their job and nothing less. Of course this is all rendered stupid form the start considering that the game costs twenty bucks. For this along with the free updates sure to come I don't see why this isn't a good dead and at the same time I don't see how anybody could expects more. I don't hate left 4 dead but comparing it to killing floor just because they both have co-op and zombies is unfair. If you like quick and gory good fun and have friends to play with then I recommend killing floor. Expand

  1. Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.
  2. Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.

While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
